Hello everyone, I need help in understanding how karaoke boxes are ran, and how much they might cost in terms of setting up equipment. I'm looking for around 11 rooms, about 5 of the rooms will be around 150 square feet, 4 of them will be around 200 square feet, and 2 rooms will be around 400 square feet. I also want to have a bar/kitchen to service food/drinks. The rooms will be split between alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I can spend anywhere from $250,000 to $500,000 for setup costs, possibly more. Can anyone tell me what kind of systems are used to run places like karaoke boxes? How is it all managed? |

Three things to consider.. Location, location, location.. First, where are to planning on setting up this KTV operation? The Box concept seems to play well in certain Asian locales. Americans like to show off, so give me the mic and an audience.. And, will you have the pretty girls to buy over priced drinks? This may set well with patrons, but the the alcohol control board does have a history of not liking this. Welcome.. |

We had an active member that had a karaoke box set up like you propose. Here is a FB link: https://www.facebook.com/Kroakys/info/?tab=page_info The owner Mark Devlin could probably help you a lot. He went by sparkzilla in this forum. His location was Sarasota, Fl. |

Let's consider the music. You're talking about 11 rooms, that's 11 systems and 11 sets of music for each system. That's a lot of money if you want to stay legal. I don't know if you can run all 11 rooms off a central system. Maybe Mr. Harrington can chime in here. |

Otherwise, at least as far as SC is concerned, no central servers are allowed. |

We have a product designed for this use that is being released in the next 3 months. Simple to use, fully licensed and over 15,000 tracks in HD. You are welcome to stop by our booth at CES in Las Vegas and I can show you what I am talking about. |
