It's kind of ironic that a karaoke manufacturer claims to "still be here" but they haven't produced a KARAOKE TRACK in over 5 years.

Coca-Cola once went decades without producing a new formula. Were they somehow "not there" because they didn't put out anything new?

Coca Cola STILL produces soda. They do not just run around suing people.

By comparison, so do we. We have very fine products that our customers and their patrons enjoy. The products may not be "new," but they remain extremely popular.

(And Coca-Cola sues a lot of bars and restaurants, too. They will go in undercover, order a "rum and Coke, and take a sample of it. If the lab test shows the cola isn't Coke, they sue for trademark infringement.)

when is the last time you put out a CD?
when is the last time you PRESSED a CD?
when is the last time you sold something that was not already in inventory form years ago?
if the answer is yesterday, you are the same as Coke, if not, you are different.

correction, you just sold three new discs you forgot you had in your warehouse that were made 5 years ago. this is equivalent to buying old warehouse stock of brand new genuine Mercury parts. Does that make Mercury still in business 5 years later?
i'll ask again

sounds like you guys are twisting the words around.

just because some company doesn't release new stuff in 5 years doesn't mean they are not in business anymore.

I have friends that released 5 albums in the 80's just because they aren't writing new stuff doesn't mean that everyone can start pirating their material and also doesn't mean they are out of business.

Jim was comparing PEP to Coke. Coke went decades without changing the formula they they continue to make to this day. SC stopped making anything more than 5 years ago and do not make anything whatsoever now and have not for more than 5 years.
i did not bring up Coke, he did.
i was using that comparison
Coke still makes Coca-Cola every day, the same one they made years ago. not a new formula, the same successful one they have always used. production continues
SC does NOT make anything, not a new product, nor the same successful product they used to make. production of any kind stopped more than 5 years ago.
Mercury does not make anything, not a new product, nor the same successful product that they used to make. production of any kind stopped more than 5 years ago.
which is a better comparison?

Once again, an analogy serves little more than to cause a mostly useless distraction...........

@ Paradigm Karaoke... Not quite. These discs are GEM Series discs

Or maybe they hadn't gotten the proper licensing for them 5 years ago.

Post subject:  Re: response to SC

they were made in the UK through FSC Mediaplas (Foreign Sound Choice Media Production Licensing And Sales? lol) under PRS licensing then imported around the same time as the original GEM sets (which just hit their first 5 year mark a month or 2 ago) so if those were unlicensed until now, so would the GEM.

@ Paradigm Karaoke... OK and thank you for that explanation. I stand corrected.

Just one more shady attempt, by SC, to try to legitimize the CLAIM that they are still a viable Karaoke Mfr.
