Hey guys,

I'm looking for a new Karaoke system. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I need the system to:
- Play CD+G files, both from a DVD and/or off of a flash drive.
- Output lyrics + video (yes, those cheesy background visuals) to a TV screen via HDMI
- Use standard mic inputs.
- Be able to record

If the system has any other musical inputs that is fine too as long as it still can take CD+Gs.

If it has its own built in speaker that is fine; if it has to output audio via HDMI that is fine too.

Any suggestions? Of course, having it perform well would be nice. I do NOT want to just use a PC as a karaoke system; this is meant for family, and for a home theater setup.

As a quick side question; would Chinese MP3+G songs work? Is there some kind of region locking that would make the Chinese character lyrics undisplayable on the TV screen?

I have a SoundChoice karaoke machine listed in classifieds section. (No Record feature though)

none of the all in ones i am aware of have standard xlr mic inputs. you can NOT send the microphone signal to your tv or theater system. there are many threads about this and the end result is usually the same, blowing the speakers. you will still need a speaker and mixer not that they need to be huge and complicated. whether you use a cdg player or a laptop with software the mixer and speaker will still be necessary. you WILL get lots of suggestions to use a laptop for this as you get more and can play all your karaoke music with a free piece of software instead of buying a limited function cdg player. as for the Chinese songs, there should be no problem at all playing those.
