Gag Tim Horton's.. Gag.... I would rather drink a coffee from the nearest gas station than timmy's sludge... and, my sister and her husband both used to work at a tim's... and the stories I heard about the donut making?! Oh gross.... the ONE thing I love to do at the drive through though, is to give the drive through people the EXACT change. Right down to the penny.... or maybe it is just a NS thing.. but my gawd, the workers EXPECT a tip.. hello? you get PAID to serve me. Oh, I am rambling... oh, but before I dropped sugar etc from my diet, I was obsessed with their fruit explosion muffins. yum.... |

Gilly, Gilly, Gilly, tipping a server at Tim's is no different than tipping your sever at a restaurant or bar. Tipping is how they survuve. |

Yes, but do you tip the drive through attendant at Burger king? No. Mcdonald's? no. Why do the tim hortons people EXPECT it? heck, where I am from they will keep your change without asking! Drives me nuts! And.. how they survive? they get paid, minimum, wage or what have you, and there are a LOT of professions where people get paid the same wages, and can't expect tips. But, heck my sister made about an extra $20-30 a day in tips working at Timmy's. Ok, yes, I am rambling/babbling, don't remind me;) |

I believe some of those companies have a no tipping policy. I think no tipping should be allowed but the salaries increased. That would be for all services you presently tip. BTW does anybody know when and how tipping started? |

No a serious question which most people probably wonder about but are afraid to ask. And yes I knows it's an acronym of To Insure Prompt Service. But I expect prompt service where ever I am, whether my mechanic, bank teller, police officer, karaoke host, etc, etc, etc. |

Good link Jeanne:) and to make me happy.. under the heading "Who are we NOT supposed to tip... Who are we NOT supposed to tip? There are still a few people out there who we are NOT supposed to tip. Some of these include: (I took out a few, babble babble) Food deliveries under $30 Busboys in restaurants Salespeople ---->*****Employees at fast food restaurants*****<------- I consider the drive through attendant an employee of a fast food restaurant. Boom. No tip from ME. Ok, I am done now;) Thanks, back to you. |
