Hi, I am new to this forum, in fact I am new to anything karaoke. I purchased a used AWF2002 Audio dvd karaoke player so that I can do some charity nights for my local charity but it did not have a remote control with it. Can anyone help me because without this the sound is so quiet and I can not turn it up even with the tv on full volume you can only just barely hear it! Also if anyone has got a users manual I would appreciate it. As I am in the uk I am willing to pay shipping costs.

Am I right to assume that you are singing thu the tv speakers? Those speakers are not built for live mic input.

I can not hear the music from the dvd's even if the volume is on full you can only just hear it, I have even tried putting it through my hi-fi and again even on full volume it is difficult to hear. On the front of the box the player came in it shows the remote control and I can see a volume up/down button so I am assuming if I get this it should sort the problem out. Can you suggest any other way?

Most of the players I've come across don't control volume - that is generally a function of the TV...No? Are you sure the audio cable(s) are correctly connected (maybe switch 'em with the video to see if you have a bad cable too), and is there some setting in your TV setup for audio input source that might need tweaking? Good luck.

Yes I have tried switching the cables around and nothing helps. And I have tried a different cable too.

My old toshiba 6 tray had volume on its remote control. Pretty cool if you were away from the board and stuff got to loud. It also has a nob to do it manually.

It may have been "sold" for a reason. I have never even heard of the player before & could only find a handful of outlets that even sell it & those are all on your side of the pond - SO if it needs the remote to turn the signal level up, you may have a problem locating one, which is why I say it may have been sold for a reason - maybe the original party couldn't locate a remote for it either.
I would start contacting the stores that carry that brand & ask if the can order a new remote. You may be better off just buying a new machine, something like the RSQ 505.

Is there a label on the player saying where the thing was made? After doing a little searching, it seems that the company is still in business. You should be able to contact the manufacturer and get them to sell you a remote.

My other thought was to possibly try a universal remote. You may get lucky since it IS a DVD player.

There is no label saying where it was made except for the 'made in china' bit on the back. I have tried doing a search on the web for the AWF make but can not find anything relating to that manufacturer ( I wonder if it comes under a different name?). I have also tried an all in one remote and it failed.
