Thread title is to the tune of Nat King Cole's Unfogettable

As a KJ, what are some things that you do which are a little 'unprofessional' or would make another KJ frown at you, but you do it anyway

I've stopped asking people for their names when they're about to sing. Because I'm bad with names and after 8 years, really, I don't care really anymore what a stranger's name is, sorry. If they offer it, cool. If they don't, I'll get by. I use descriptions or compliments. Now I wonder if some folks are starting to like it that their name isn't mentioned. I say things like 'folks you gotta clap for that voice!' When they're done and they seem to like my descriptions better than 'folks, clap for joe!' I know it's not professional of me and it'll probably hurt me on the long run, but *shrug*

I am not a snappy dresser. My shows are very informal. I wear tee-shirts and shorts.

I am unprofessional because.....

I accept tips
I drink on the job
I don't play customer discs or USB tracks
I don't use paper slips
I still print books
I mix new and repeat singers in my rotations.....

I will take (my kind of) unprofessional and successful over pro and broke any time......

Tips are okay..... just not in a jar and not for "rotation management."

I can counter each of your mini jabs, but I have better things to do with my time.

Besides, why should anyone believe you? You have no integrity, morals or ethics. You lied about that serialized watermarking.

Funny how this board will let you use the word FU#K in a gif but not in a sentence.

It's not the board.. It's just that the board can't read text built into a photo... it's all a photo and not "readable." There's no OCR built into it.

The system cannot see text within images...

Unprofessional? Hmmm...

Let's see...

I don't have printed slips - I use index cards.
I only play CB & SC from discs.
I don't have a printed book (yet!)
I drink on the job - but not excess! (Still need to function!)
I dress in jeans and tropical print shirts! (LOL! - Don't know if that's unprofessional, just throwing it out there)

Boy have times changed around here.... 5 years ago I posted a bullsh** button vid and was temp banned from the site. Now the give a f*** o meter is endorsed by staff.

TO THE OP:

I push rowdy females who jump on the stage and latch onto my arm with their teeth.

I push them while yanking my forearm from the grip of their jaw.

They fall forward and smack their face on my singer's video screen.

I grab them by the shirt so they don't hit the floor with their face.

I watch as the poor fool who tries to assist the she-devil gets slapped with a full back-swing and a war-cry.

I sit here typing this with the impression of her teeth and a bruise on my arm. This was through a heavy jacket and my shirt sleeve.

I am unprofessional because I don't have the video to post (yet).

I must be unprofessional because a guy in the audience yelled out "Damn Dude! Why'd you push her?"
(I was thinking: "Oh great, now everyone thinks I push girls around.")

"Professional" has multiple definitions.

"I do it for compensation"
"I'm very good at it"

One area to steer clear of the word completely is the bedroom.
"Wow! That was fantastic, great, or awesome" - work great.
"Wow! That was very professional" - Not so much.
