Post subject:  any Canadian GEM licensees out there?

Well I am just wating for the paperwork for my GEM set and something occured to me. How much am I going to have to pay for import fees? Is it going to be based on the full value of the discs, or what I paid for a deposit. If it is the full amount, I might be royally screwed.. *sigh*

Anyone here in Canada lease the GEM set that is willing to share what they had to pay?

thanks

-James

i would hold off for a bit, the current lawsuit against PEP is asking for returns of all GEM series. you would be out the money, and the music.
if you are looking to expand, look at the Zoom 100 discs. same quality production, same 320k mp3, $0.20 per track vs $0.75 per track, own the tracks forever.
just something to think about

i am perfectly aware of the lawsuit and I am also comfortable with my descion. I am not going to let fear of what could happen dictate my life. I already do that too much in my love life. *lol*

This lawsuit could take years to resolve completely. By the time an enforable recall happens, I will have the songs I want *half of which aren't available anywhere* for a small fraction of the retail cost.

Besides, I doubt zoom would offer me financing terms as generous as Kurt has just because I tried to work out an arrangement with him.

They can have the discs back when I can afford the postage to send them :P

Fear not the Royal Canadian Mounties will save you. :) (just a joke). Living in fear is something no one should have to bare. DARN those copy rights holders!!!!!!!

those songs will have to go back as well.
either way, i wasn't aware the license could extend to Canada, another reason i suggested the Zoom discs.
