Ok, tonight at my karaoke show in walks a guy who comes up to me and introduced himself as Don and politely asked what songs I had by Don Henley. I really didn't think too much about it at the time and he went and sat down at the bar.
We were very busy and he waited patiently like everyone else until he was called up. So...... he comes up and requests to sing "heart of the matter" by Don Henley and I launch the song. HOLY (@$%&#!)!!! He sounded almost exactly like Don Henley from the Eagles! The audience was freaking out.. I was freaking out as well and everyone started asking the obvious question: "Is that Don Henley from the Eagles?"
To be honest, I started wondering myself because he definitely looked like him and sounded like him but I still wasn't convinced enough to believe it. A few of the regulars came up to me about thirty minutes later to inform me that this gentlemen said his full name was Don Henley. I, of course, called BULLSHIT and shooed them all away.
Who comes up about 45 minutes later to sing "Dirty Laundry"? You guessed it, our mystery singer, "DON". Having heard all the nonsense non-stop about this guy's identity I did the unthinkable and asked him for his drivers's license.before he started his song. He was caught off-guard and I apologized for my adolescent curiosity but he happily obliged.
Guess what? His full name was Don Henle!! Notice there was no "y" on his last name but still pronounced the same. He was from California visiting and was a good sport about the whole ordeal. No brush with celebrity but a great night full of stars!!

You should be glad is wasn't really Don Henley. He's VERY adamant about not allowing any of his songs or the Eagles songs be licensed for karaoke. He may have served you lawsuit papers on the spot, hopefully after he sang his song
