Don't you just love it when a manufacturer gets a word wrong, but your singers think it's right?

I've casually mentioned to a couple of my singers... It's "guard", not "God"... but they continue to sing what they see on screen. (Tom Jones "Green Green Grass Of Home).

How about "Bring Me Down "Blocko".... on the Mavericks "All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down"... I'm not too sure Flaco Jiminez would take too kindly to being called "Blocko".

These are two of my favorites, and both just happen to be Sound Choice versions... but I'm sure most manufacturers have such screw-ups.

Do you have any favorites?

I sing that song too, only the Chartbuster version. Chartbuster got it right.
I think they have all had there lyrics mess ups.
Another one that sticks out to me is Sound Choice - Garth Brooks - It's Your Song ("see" instead of "sing", "weep" instead of "wings")

I've never found anything that verifies the practice or the legality, but I had always heard that some karaoke producers changed select words on purpose in an attempt to make the lyrics a fair use derivative and not a copy of the original lyrics.

All I can say is I'm glad the K-producers aren't from China. With pigeon english translations it would be hard to make it through a song without laughing.

Not sure if they changed the words on purpose, especially in the old days before Google and simple lyrics search, many went on what they thought the words were saying or sounded like.

I have the Elvis version (Easy Karaoke - rebadged Music Maestro) and the lyrics read "guard". But doesn't "god" and "guard" sound almost the same in an American accent?

My wife and I sing a Christmas song each year. We audition a few songs, then pick a couple to do.

One year we came home after a party and thought we'd try a couple of songs out on the karoke screen. I had just received a U-Best Christmas CDG in the mail, and we put it on. We got to I'll Be Home For Christmas and saw:

I'll be home for Christmas
You can come on me

We both fell on the floor laughing. To this day we can't possibly sing that song.

Pretty hard to beat that one Mick... Too funny! Sounds like someone was planning on an interesting Christmas "party"... :twisted:

At another KJ's show, I saw a version of "Bring It On Home To Me" that reads "You know I left when you left" instead of "laughed when you left"... The lady singing it repeated what was on the screen.

I can't remember what manu but in "Lady's Is A Tramp" by Frank Sinatra it should say She'll have no crap games with sharpies and frauds and the graphics come up as Sharkies And Frogs

That brings back memories. A great song from a great show. Saw it on broadway twice. Love the music.
