I just bought a new JVC XL-MV303BK player, a DM-1900 Leader mic and Vocopro VHF-35 dual wireless mics. I hooked all this up to my little 100 watt home stereo system. Mics sound fine till I start the music, then I get a crackling sound from the speakers. The only way to eliminate it is to turn the volume down so low that I can hardly hear myself.

What gives? Is my amp under powered? Cheap speakers? Help if you can.

Supposedly JVC machines have a problem with wireless mics. Solution: get a small mixer or wired mics. The mixer option will yield overall better sound anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have the same problem with my one wired mic, a Leader DM-1900. Any other suggestions?

Ronem,

Could have something to do with speaker position, I would try repositioning the speakers to get rid of the popping sound. I've seen that some when people position the speakers behind the mics or particularly if they face the speakers while singing such as in using a home stereo system and plugging in a mic.

Other than that, I'm at a loss. Last resort you might check to see if the system has a grounding plug, you can get rid of noise somethimes by "lifting" the ground particularly if you're using unbalanced connections (1/4" vs XLR).

Chief
