For you guys that do Saturday gigs, when is your bar going to do Halloween Karaoke, the weekend before, or the day after?

I'm the only entertainment at my bar, and work Wednesdays and Saturdays. I would think my owner would want to do it November 1, but I think I'll pitch the idea of me coming in to DJ on Oct. 31 as well.

I think you should. I'm sure a lot of your patrons will ask if you will have it on Friday, the 31st, the actual day of celebration. Probably even better turn out if it's on Friday. Good luck!

Saturday would be a better choice in my opinion as some people really put a lot into their costumes and need time to put it altogether. Friday for those with kids - get off work, get the kids ready, take them out trick or treating, then come back home (maybe dinner) then get ready into costume & then head to the bar. Depending on some schedule, doesn't allow a lot of time.

We do Friday karaoke at 5 places and all of them are doing Halloween that night. Some are making it a Halloweekend so we will do Halloween on Saturday too.

My regular nights are Thursday and Saturday (in different locations)... but as it happens, one of our major contest's semi-finals falls on the Friday (31st), so we'll be into the Halloween festivities three nights in a row.

So, because we'll be doing three in a row, I chose "Other" for my response to the poll.

If you're just using them as protection, do what we do. We put our speaker in a Rubbermaid tub. They are cheap, durable, protects the speaker, and easy to transport on a handcart. Measure your speaker and get the right size. We've used them for over 13 years.

Not sure what this has to do with Halloween?

Looks like we are doing our party on Saturday giving everyone time with their kids and not have to rush to get ready. Saturday will give them all day to get ready if necessary.

We actually took a poll from the customers themselves at my Saturday show.. And the overwhelming response was they wanted it on Halloween night,, so Friday it is... My Friday show is preempting me with a band on Halloween. Which works out nicely,, because I will be doing the Halloween party on Friday at my Saturday show,, and doing karaoke at my Saturday regular night. Worked out nicely for me. Since this is going to be my last Halloween party,, I think I will just have to go all out :)

Well, I'm not doing a show this Halloween. I'll be touring in Bucharest and will be in Dracula's Castle on that night.
