Post subject: | HELP |
Hi all! I'm an european guy (Portugal) with 28 years, vocalist and bass player. The main reason that I'm posting is that we (locals) have some difficulties in acquiring some karaoke hardware and there's not much literature to get info from; so I have interest in getting my own gig to start making karaoke shows in my friend's bar and then at other places. I've done before as a KJ just for the fun and I really enjoy it... maybe cause I really sing... . The thing is, where (Europe) and what shall I buy??? meaning player, mixer and mics, cause I already have a mini 500W PA to plug on. Your sugestions would be highly appreciated... (Sorry for my english... ) |

I would check with the European companies, like Sing To The World, Zoom, etc. |

Check the advertisers here if they'll ship overseas. The main problem may be operating voltage and frequency, however some of the newer electronic equipment is dual voltage compatable. Don't know if the NTSC / PAL format affects CD+G's or not? Anyone else know? |

no, they're equally compatible. In fact, the JVC comes with the standard European plug, and gives you an adapter so you can hook up to standard 120v power! AND you have to flip a switch to make it work! That's the NTSC/PAL switch. |

Well ok but to import from USA I'll pay a lot of custom duties and taxes so I better find it here in Europe. But guys please, the main question was what equipment to buy? brand, maker etc... |

too many options to list. I'd recommend going over to the "OPEN FORUMS" link on the left side of the page, and after clicking that, go to the "Ask Sammy" and just start reading. We have given many recommendations for many types of equipment, from amplifiers to players to speakers to microphones... way too much to mention here! |
