So i ordered a disc from my regular online canadian retailer, and when I got the discs in the mail today, i opened the package the discs were in the cheap paper holders, a first for me. Then I looked at the soundchoice 8532 disc i had ordered. Just like Smooth's disc, it was completely blue.

It even said 'injet label cdr' on the ring, and have the compact disc logo that are stamped on all CDR discs. I couldn't believe it. I wouldn't have been AS worried, but the disc didn't even come with an insert like all my other discs have.

I will definately be contacting soundchoice tomorrow.

Everyone is cutting costs..

A burner is included with every computer these days..

And stand alone 4x burner is $200 or so..

Why pay for a professional disk when a .05 cent disk will pass..

(doh nah nah nah not)
Got my new Sound Choice disc today!
(doh nah nah nah not)
Don't know what to do?
(doh nah nah nah not)
Pulled it out of the sleeve.
(doh nah nah nah not)
And the darn thing is Blue.

No seriously I have never received a all blue SC disc.
I guess your best move is to contact SC as you had already stated.
Let us know the results as I still buy a few now & then.

I must be a bit behind. I know that SC has been out of disc production for some time. I also know they only distribute GEMS as sets.

Where do these new blue single discs come from?

Well I called Soundchoice, and apparently they are doing discs in house, but the woman I spoke to still wasn't sure if the disc was legit or not.

So they are going to send me one directly from them, and asked me to send the other disc back.

We shall see if it is the same as the one I received.

I'll post an update when I get the new disc. I'll also post a picture of the disc I have now when I get a chance

Are they charging you for the shipping of the replacement disc, or paying you for your mailing costs of sending them your disc?

She said that they were sending me a label to return the disc, so I am assuming that the postage is paid for. Unless for some reason she made the mistake of using one of those labels that's only valid in the US.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see

If they are making discs in house, does that mean single discs of the older material are being made available again? Are they now back in production?

Jim?

Bumping, and puzzled. I would think that the info that they are producing in house would be a heck of a conversation starter for both "sides", yet it seems to be getting a serious letting alone.

Does everyone know something that I missed?

As a part time Sound Choice cheerleader - I will believe it when I see it.

My guess is SC would want a big deal made of this. Unless they have come to terms with the Rights Holders or had room under the cap (which would not make sense at all) anything they reproduce would be pirated.

I haven't posted anything else because i haven't recieved the disc from soundchoice yet. I tried to upload the picture, but when I clicked on the 'add file' button, the upload window popped up, then I clicked submit and... nothing happened. Maybe I'll have to find a place to put the picture so i can post a link.

-James

Hey Chris, can you pm me an email for someone to talk to? Maybe if I sent them the picture they would be able to tell me more.

-James

edit: in the meantime, maybe smooth would be willing to post a picture of his disc so I can at least confirm if they are the same kind..

This is jclaydon's picture. I doubt that it is a genuine SC manufactured disc....very nicely made though!

Repeating since it seems people forget.

Bazza's EZ-Way for anyone to post pics or videos.
  1. Go to http://www.TinyPic.com (It's free)
  2. Upload your pic (choose "Message Board" for re-size)
  3. Copy the string listed under "Message Boards".
  4. Paste above copied string into your message.

Congrats, you just posted a pic. It wont disappear or change on you, it will format perfectly on KS, and you don't have to worry about managing a gallery and deleting when you have too many.

You don't have to manage any gallery or delete on Karaoke Scene. It's very easy to post directly here as well!
1 - Browse Your picture from your computer & select it
2 - Click Add The File (it will bring up a window showing upload progress) when that is finished (this is the part I think everyone forgets)
3 - Click Submit!

So easy any ol' Joe could do it!

And how do I size it? I tried to post a picture here recently, following your directions with tinyurl, and when I went to post it in here, K-Scene wouldn't accept it, because it was too large. How do I go about shrinking the size of storage the picture is using?
