I am looking to record cdg and make slight key changes from the original. What is the best way I tried using the MTU demo and it wobles. There has to be a better professional way to change the key and make a quality recording |

I know that with mp3's if you're using Adobe Audition , or Cool Edit Pro you can use the Time/Pitch effect to raise or lower the key. It works very well for me! under (Pitch Bender)you can raise or lower a full step with one click...but I usually do it manualy until it sounds good to my ear.good luck. |

Thanks ..but Im trying to find the best way using my existing cdgs...and transfer them with the new key changes to a new cdg. |

The 'best' way to insure timing being correct, etc. is to rip to MP3+CDG, make the key change on the MP3's and burn back as CD+G. |

Like karaokemeister suggested, you'll need to split the graphic from the audio so you can have a wave file, than you use the creative EAX Console that comes for free with the purchase of any new SB Audigy 2 audio card & just record a session at your desire key! I would also suggest you normalise the wave file before you combine both the audio & the graphic into a bin. Believe me, I've tried so many Key changers & it's just impossible to get better than the EAX console! BTW, have you complaint to MTU about this wobles? I think they should hear from others not just from me!!!!

I complained to MTU on several ocassions. I bought key rite and microstudio from them. I lost it when I got a new computer now they want me to buy it all over again. I checked the demo from the new Pro version that was recently released, same problem with the wobble. |

I fully agree with you about this wobble, quivering or what ever we call this! I told them that it was not acceptable to offer something call Pro at that price with such a low quality! I don't know if you posted in their forum but please do & stick to your opinion, the goal is not to make them a bad press but to make them understand that they are not perfect, not sure they know that!! They have a great software call Hoster that I would love to buy but until they can't fix this quivering problem with their key changer I will not buy it! I have a pretty good idea they'll come at me with this comment but I don't care, I have the freedom to express myself & I'm really not trying to make them look bad but make them understand that they have to listen!! If you did purchase the license for Micro you should be able to at least buy just the upgrade at $15.00 not the full license? Have you sent Admin a pm? Good Luck! |

If you wish to hear the result from a modified Key changed, I have these songs that were recorded on: Lady = -2 Do you want to know a secret = -1 All I have to do is dream = -1 I don't normally go down -2 on Kenny's stuff but the Charbuster CDG was a key to high compaired to the original! Please, tell me if you hear any quivering or wobbles? It's the way it should be... Thanks |

Quality of an MP3 is diminished and can create the wobbling effect you speak of. Using a WAV file directly imported from an Audio CD usually will solve this problem. |

first words... Don't use any computer software for this. I have everything stored on the PC, and use a player for the same. But in words of Key Changes, all of the softwares out there only use DSP characteristics. None out there truly sound near as good as the Key changer built into your RSQ or other descent CDG players. I know.. A chip runs a program too, but there's still a difference. Most of the good players use an actual DSP chip (not a computer program) I've been looking at several Rack mount Key Changer/Mixers for just this need as well. I don't know about the vocopro rack unit, but a buddy of mine just bought a mixer for his stereo setup that also has onscreen programming and Key Change capabilities. I have to tell you that running computer or his RSQ through the unit and using it to change the keys works GREAT!! I will most likely add something like this to our rig. It's on the fly as well. No need to record as one key and remix changes and other. |

So far, NO key changer on ANY cdg player are has good as the EAX Console, I've tried some on the Pionneer, JVC, RSQ and they're not even close!! The EAX Console key changer is not what you would call a "Pitch on the Fly", you need to import the audio track at the desire key and than re-attach the graphic part to create the bin file. Now, for any other PC key changer available on the market, I agree with you!! You might want to listen to some of my subs and tell me if you hear any strange sound coming from a pitch change? I'll tell you which are on a different key if you wish? |

exactly! Winamp's Pacemaker plugin... controls TEMPO, SPEED, and PITCH ALL independently! I've actually been more impressed with this aspect of PC hosting than normal disc spinning because of this very control feature! |
