Hi, Lee Ann again. I appreciate the advice in the last thread I started. I was told to look into Cool Edit Pro and get a MP3 ripper. I've been reading all the posts and have to say that it really sounds all too complicated to me. I also don't want to spend a whole bunch of money on things just to submit a song.

Anyway, here's what I want to know...Isn't there anyway I could just simply record on my PC what is coming from my home Karaoke system without spending a bunch of money? I have really nice Gemini wireless mics already set up over by the Karaoke system. I don't want to use my cheapo PC mic to record, nor do I want to unhook, change set-up, and hook-up equipment all the time. I also don't really have the time to be doing a whole bunch of editing and stuff in a program on the PC.

Maybe I was being ignorant when I found this site. I thought I could just record from my Karaoke player/DVD player hooked up to my TV and then get it into my PC somehow. If anyone has any answers, that would be great.

Thanks again.
Lee Ann

okay, it was mentioned in the other thread, but maybe it was so buried you got frustrated.

Audacitiy is a free program, freely available on the web. that's for mixing. Many people use it for the vocals and music.

editcdg is a free program on the web as well. Use it to display your graphics.

Goldwave is another free program on the web. Use it to do a batch conversion of any audio file down to a highly compressed mp3 or whatever.
