Does anyone have any house rules for karaoke? I keep mine pretty relaxed and I just advise that there is a table for drinks at the side of the stage and an ashtray for cigs although I let people hold their cigs while they sing if they wish.

Nailed it, with one addition - no racial or religeous slurs.

Not a rule,technically, but no bumps. Don't try to bribe me, if you are female whatever you offer isn't going to do it, don't tell me about your babysitter or how many people are there to hear you sing. Have to leave in five minutes ( invarioubly a lie)? Goodnight, you've spent what you were going to spend.

I haven't had an incident yet that would cause me to print the no racial/religious slurs in my books. This particular one is a fine line to walk, especially the race aspect. Some people consider white people sing songs with the "N" word to fall into that category. I do not.

The only song that makes me even remotely squeamish in this regard is "The Rodeo Song".
