Hi, thank you for the chance to ask my tech question here:

I was given today a large box (size of a small fridge) which is identified as a:

Pioneer LC-V200 Laserdisc Karaoke 50-disc changer. It did not come with any manuals and it came with a cable.

Would anyone know anything at all about this device? The previous owner told me that when it was new, it was about a 10,000 dollar machine.

It turns on, but thats about it. I connected a monitor to the video out jacks, but nothing shows up. The power button says on/standby so i am guessing it's on "standby" but I do not know what it is looking for.

Are there other pieces I need?

Thanks for any help. :D

Domo

My first guess on a unit that old is that the reader needs a good cleaning, along with the rest of the innards. Then the discs.

It could be any number of other problems, but common sense dictates checking the simplest things first.

To the person with the "eject " problem : check the " eject" button. That is the most used button / switch on the device, and usually the first to crap out.
