hey i'm thinking about making a karaoke newsletter and i could use any suggestions, stories, ideas, formats, links to other convos on this topic
my idea:
it'll be 1-page--front and back a weekly issue this karaoke newsletter is for the karaoke biz i work for every week 1 random karaoke singer will be chosen w/ a little blurb on 'em each week 1 random staff from a venue will be chosen w/ a little blurb i'll list the venues my karaoke biz are at each week there'll be a highlight of whatever local karaoke thing that happened last week and a spotlight on what to look forward to this week in local karaoke i'll have a quick list of new songs that came out in karaoke
again, this newsletter will be about my personal karaoke biz that i work for, not other KJs or spots, etc
i'll hand it out at the venues i work at, get folks e-mails & cells if i can so i can e-mail them a copy
i'll try to use the same format weekly, just different info i work at 4 different venues so i'll pick a different karaoke singer & venue staff each week to just maybe show a pic of them (if they agree) and write 1 sentence about them
any thoughts/suggestions i'm all ears

each newsletter will have my contact info and e-mail address if folks want to be added to our newsletter which will be free
it'll only be 1 page, front & back. maybe a story highlight of something karaoke-related that happened that week at a venue
i'll bring like 20 copies w/ me and hand 'em out each show to random folks
see how it goes
i remember back in the year 2000, damn, 14 years ago, someone went around the karaoke spots and made a newsletter that was a couple of pages with pics and blurbs, but it included all the karaoke spots or close to it
and i know venues have websites, why have a newsletter? just wanna see how it goes

Consider the ROI.
What is your expected outcome? What is the cost in time and energy to make that happen?

Consider that any one particular venue that u work at may not like u featuuring another venue and inttroducing it in thier pllace. May want to limit it to.a particuuular venue and spotlight only thier simgers staff and events...may need to do a separate one for each venue. Use them as an.in house advertising device.
