Any individual who abuses my equipment such as...
1. Drop or throw the microphone deliberately. 2. Spill or splash liquid into/onto speakers or other equipment. 3. Knock over the singers' lyrics screen.
Other than that... I am a pretty easy-going, fun-loving KJ.
"You wouldn't like me when I'm angry." - Dr. David Banner (from the TV series)

folks who sing the same 2 songs weekly, and have the NERVE to ask every time I call them to the mic "Which song am I singing?" What does it matter?
I get really nasty when it's their final second song of their weekly 2-song set and they come up to the mic and still absent-mindedly ask "What song am I singing?"

Yeah... It took a while but I finally had to get over peoples' personalities.
I don't care what songs you want to sing over and over.
I don't care how drunk or sober you are (with the exception of touching me [exception for attractive ladies] or abusing my equipment [see above]).
I don't care if you have to leave or if you have $20 to bump you up in the list.
Last night I told this joker to go ask someone else in the list if they'd swap turns with him for his $20 - and they did!
Frankly, I remain professional in the face of bad behavior that does not include physical or destructive actions.
Kill 'em with kindness, or ignore them so they starve to death from inattention.

1. Banging on the mic or dropping it. 2. Yelling at me to turn them up (when you can already hear them three blocks away). 3. Arguing with me about rotation. 4. Putting themselves in with several different names so they get more turns. 5. Jumping up and trying to sing with everyone else on their turns.

"Thirsty" singers who wait right by the DJ booth as you come in ready to give you their first song and criticize you for not having a pen ready for their highness

Product 19 wrote: "Thirsty" singers who wait right by the DJ booth as you come in ready to give you their first song and criticize you for not having a pen ready for their highness This one wouldn't make me mad, i'd make sure to get them their pen & paper then thank them for being an avid supporter. I don't get mad as a rule, all the things mentioned above are no surprises to karaoke show, I just deal with it, but don't get mad. The one time I got mad was when I had to cut someone off & and she poured an entire picher of beer in my books! This was in 95. The bar 86'd her as well & haven't seen her since. Even the night my mixer got a beer dumped on it by a customer by accident didn't make me mad to the point people saw I was mad.

The kid who says "I just want to get up and do some freestyle rap. I'm an artist.".
No thanks. Pick a song. Move along.

I do my best not to explode regardless of how much I might want to, but sometimes people can tell anyway. I get frustrated the most by people who abuse the mics and the ones who try to cheat the rotation.

As a goof, maybe you should switch their 2nd song to "The Alphabet Song" if they ask you what they're singing next. A KJ did that to a woman (a notoriously drunken one) so she made it the third song in her rotation! Instead of two songs a week, she sang three.
