Post subject:  Question regarding Karaoke Tracks.

We all have older family's that love to sing Karaoke. Well my grandparents want to sing some blues that came out late 40s-60s.

I can only remember 1 song that they love to sing and it's, Mountain Dew by Grandpa Jones. Well anyways, trying to buy a CDG from Acekaraoke or w/e, only 1 or 2 songs are the ones that they know where it's a 3 CDG set and they don't know the other songs. So I Google the song, and it shows that

www.selectatrack.com/singletrack/CB04172?ReferralID=LAT

had it, but due to my IP in America, it transfers me to
Due to your IP location we are transferring you to our international partners.
Which is http://www.tricerasoft.com
and when I go to that site, they don't have the song on there.

Now my question is, what other companies make a Custom CDG karaoke for you, and do have old 50s songs included.

And if there are none, is it possible to ask a friend to get the custom CDG and ship it to me there?

As I emailed they said "USA customers can not reach selet-a-track due to licensing restrictions"

Often a problem..

There are some threads that address this issue..

Ebay can be a source, or perhaps a buddy in another location can assist..

That's a Chartbuster track. Have you tried to get on to http://Proburn.com? That's a CDG custom site that have most of the Chartbuster library among their tracks. As long as your IP is not blocked all you'll need is to add nine more tracks to a disc along with that one and you're ready to go!

@ Burnstrum Thanks for the link i'll check it up. That was what I was looking for. Do you know any more links that do Sound Choice?

@ Lonman, when I first clicked on the link, was skeptical about the quality. Also I noticed it's only MP3 Karaoke as we only have a CDG player.

Thanks CT Kirk it's just that they had like 20 songs, and was looking for a site that makes custom Karaoke CDG.

By the way, I sent them a email saying

"So If I go on a vacation to somewhere out of US (perhaps Europe) I can order the song from there? "

Then they replied as "You are welcome to, but the license does not hold for use in the USA so if you want to risk lawsuit or fines by your local agency such as ASCAP or BMI then you are very welcome to do so."

I'm a little confused about this. So ASCAP and BMI does not support Songs away from USA?

First, as far as licensing, you have no worries as a home user. That is more directed toward pro Karaoke Hosts. Also, more disc suggestions: The song is also available on DK disc #84 - the version I use in shows - and Nashville Sounds NS-15. Both of these versions are actually Flatt and Scruggs, but the same except VERY slightly faster. Most folks seem to like these versions better. The NS disc probably has songs more familiar to your relatives if you can find it.

a normal mp3 file burned to disc will work in a CDG player, obviosuly you just wouldnt have any on screen lyrics.

I know of two more "Proburn" sites, an English one and an Australian one. Both http://Proburn.com and http://Proburn-Karaoke.co.uk are £2.40 sterling a track. Not sure what that is in $USD. http://ProburnCDG.com (Australia) charge $4.55 AU per track so that's dearer. You are unlikely to find anywhere vastly cheaper (here in the UK most places charge £2 a track) unless Chartbuster disc CB20031 (which contains Mountain Dew) appears on Ebay or somewhere for silly money. Good luck!

In a word, no.

There is the complete Sound Choice selection and then some in the form of The Karaoke Channel at http://CustomBurn.com, but that won't be any use to you in the States I'm afraid.

There was talk of SC setting up a custom service around the time Clark Music ceased trading, but so far this hasn't materialised.
