Post subject:  Hello From Vermont

I guess I should introduce myself.
My Name is Shane and i'm 48 years old, i've been married to the same woman for 29 years and we have 5 children ranging from 19 to28 years old, 3 boys and 2 girls, we also have 3 grandsons.
I started doing Karaoke this spring and i love it, i have played guitar and sang for years, but i'm not that good with my guitar so it limited the songs i could do. With karaoke there is almost no limit.
I started hosting a show at the local Music Club in town about a month and a half ago and it's going good, we seem to pick up a few every week.
We get alot of compliment for the sound and i am always looking for ways to improve it. Thank you all here for the help, as i have spent time reading over alot of your advice.
I am also amature body builder and have competed in the over 38 class.

WELCOME TO THE SITE!

Sorry, I have been busy. As a 'Newbie' you may not know my role on this site. But I try to make everyone happy here.

My "job" here is quite complex and time consuming so I don't always get a chance to welcome people to the site.

If I miss anyone I apologize.

I did add a welcome message in the Forum description. :)

:? Well I put in my first song in the singers showcase. It was a song I recorded for a demo to send in to the local country radio station to see if I could qualify for competing in the local Colgate Country Showdown.
I only had 2 days to get it in from the time I found out about it, you see I went down to one of the local Karaoke shows and the second week I was there the host told me I should get a demo sent in to the local station, she gave me a copy of the music and the next day I recorded it, it was only the third time i had done this song. I did get picked to compete with 12 others out of over 50 demos sent in. I had alot of fun at the contest even though I didn't win, I did however get the greatest crowd reaction. Now I do it down one step and have done it enough that it's alot better than the recording. I will send this recording in again after about a month and after i rerecord it.

welcome to the site Shane and family!

That's fantastic you've been married to the same person for so long! A true inspiration in today's troubled world!
