Never had a lot of lighting and what I do have is way obsolete. So if you guys had it all to do again what lighting would you buy today? Not rolling in dough so would definitely appreciate ideas that generate max bang for the buck... |

Acme Impossiled. http://www.whybuynew.co.uk/lighting-effects/moonflower/acme-impossibled.htm Definitely a better example of cheap led lighting. Setting 7 sound to light gives a nice wide effect. |

My suggestion would be to take a look at all those mini laser lights that have come on the market over the past couple of years... I have four of them, and they have completely taken over from my LED moonflowers, Verta-pro's, and PAR systems... I have an ADJ micro-galaxian, a micro-3D, a micro-gobo, and a Chauvet who's designator escapes me for the moment... All were priced within spitting distance of $100... Small, easy to carry, wide coverage, relatively cheap, no need for tri-pods or trussing... To me, they're the best 'bang-for-the-buck'. Cheers |

I have the ADJ quad phase: http://www.venuesupply.com/detail/ameri ... fgodGAUAFQ ADJ Revo4: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ ... QgodWCUABw ADJ Tri-Phase: http://www.yandasmusic.com/cc/productid ... QgodzjYAEQ ADJ Spherion Tri-color mirror ball with built-in light beam & motor. http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i- ... RILED-LIST Ahhh, the benefits of being in a stationary gig / permanent rig installation, no set-up no tear-down required. If I have to do it all over again, heck I’ll buy these very same items again. On the other hand might be a different story if I’m mobile & gigging from one place to another. |

Agree with LED--they use less electricity, they don't put off heat and they don't have duty cycles. Also agree with mini lasers which I think are the ideal mobile karaoke lighting. They add a lot of atmosphere for their size. They are small enough to fit into one of your other gear boxes and with a bit of improvising you don't need to carry or set up stands. |

Yes, also agree with the others about buying the micro lasers. A must buy! The effect and the coverage is awesome. I have two of the micro galaxians. They will completely fill any size room... and I mean any size. Even used them outdoors. All your trees and shrubs will light up. So many uses for them. I use other led lights of course but these are a no brainer. |

Micro lasers for sure, $100 and fill the room. LED is def the way to go, lots of options out there. If you want a nice wash light the ADJ mega bar 50 is a small but powerful light. If you can find a used one even better. But a nice system is the Chauvet 4 Bar. Simple and effective. Hope this helps! |

I bought an LED Bar4 when they first came out and it is still going strong. Love it. Combined with Galaxian & Royal Galaxian lasers and I am set. Lights always get compliments and it WILL step up your game noticeably. The best thing is that the LED's use a whopping 40 watts. You never have to worry about blowing a breaker like you might with 400-600 watts of PAR cans. The new Chauvet LED light look sweet, especially the ones you can double mount on one stand. |
