HI Sammy, Do you know of a download that will key change the tracks I play through winamp? Is it also possible to key change the track with the text so they play and read at the same time, then record the key changed track onto the pc so I can play the track at a later stage without key changing it again? as I would like to obtain a laptop and use this instead of the current way I perform. Which is with the use of mini discs. Please can you help!! Thanks T1T5 |

Here's what I do 1. Rip the CDG to bin 2. Convert bin to mp3 & cdg 3. Use CEP to transpose mp3 4. Convert mp3 & cdg to bin 5. Burn new disk with transposed bin You'll follow the same steps, depending on what your final media is. |

winamp also has a pacemaker plugin that allows key change, speed change, etc for the song being played at the moment. |

thanks for your reply please dont think that i am thick but i have never done any of the things you have told me to do.please would it be possible to go through it one step at a time cos i really do not understand but i want to learn to do this before i buy a lap top . with what you have addvised and i have changed the pitch (example slowed the song down with the cdg ) when i save the song can i recored the changed song to my hard drive which has had the pitch changed and the txt to follow the speed of the song and then play the song back with the changes i have made. is it possible to do this all in mp3 with the cdg still there so i can then take it off of the pc and transfer this over to my lap top and then play this through winamp so when it plays on my lap top it already has been changed and the cdg txt run at the same speed as the song??????? sorry if this sounds daft but its only because i dont understand , once again thaks for the help and addvise please dont give cheers t1t5 |

I don't know about saving it that way. I just would make the adjustments on the winamp setting when I opened it up. |

In the Winamp pugin search engine key word "Pacemaker" Ver 1.32 saves the settings for each song. Also SqrSoft is an adjustable crossfade that works fairly well but doesnt match the beats. However depending on your budget and if you are going to to do alot of DJ work The one I'm really interested in now is PCDJ ( Thanks for the recommendation Brian (Beachead Bum)I'm going to buy it for my system when the old budget permits) It has a karaoke plugin and KJ and DJ works with zipped files. I downloaded the Red demo ver It has a real DJ crossfade which matches the beat of the songs being faded. Also has all the bells and whistles for DJ work.. Has the capabilities to fade from karaoke to fill music... Just Google for pcdj and download one of the demos It impressed me alot.... |

there are several winamp plugins that allow for crossfade or "dj style" mixing... try doing a little research at the winamp plugin site for more info... knightshow has already handed you over the information for pacemaker keychanger... if you have never done any of these things before and have no clue I would suggest staying with the old setup of disks and cdg player... -tig |

I'm not aware of any sites that offer a subscription service akin to eMusic on the MP3 side. There are a couple that are more like iTunes that are a pay per track service. There is also one service that provides streaming karaoke which uses special software. The don't let you post links here to sites that compete with sponsors but a quick search of google should turn them up. If you're just looking for a couple tracks for home use a lot of the chartbuster catalog is available through the Media add-on for the X-Box and is about half the price (or less) of most of the custom CDG services. |
