HI Gang, Anyone out there have any suggestions for rack mounting or other carrying cases for a JVS MV 333 and a Mackie DFX 12 mixer? Would like this to be very portable and lightweight--trying to be able to tote my entire system in my Camry. Wouldn't mind a single unit ot mount both in, but haven't seen anything I like yet. ' thanks gang, Tank |

I haven't had a problem with finding a box to mount only my players/effects etc. but finding a decent sized box that offers rack space on the top for mounting a mixer has been difficult. Something with about 8U down the front (tankaroke may not need so much space) and 8-10U across the top for the mixer would be nice and probably fit tankaroke's needs as well. BTW, the only thing I've found (while in Fairbanks) was a really nice rack that had probably close to 20U of space down the front and 10-12U on the top for a mixer - and at $500 it was overkill. Besides I'd never be able to get it on my trailer or in my car. |

I have found a very nice box at the GuitarCenter, 6 units high and space for the mixer on top. less then $250.-, very much worth the money, and big enough for my stuff, yet small enough to carry around! |

' thanks gang, Tank 1 of the main drawback with the DFX12 is that it isn't standard rack mountable. Mackie hasn't came out with the "ears" to make it rack mountable yet either. If I were to rack that, I would probably custom build something. You can get a cd road case (SKB makes them among other brands) with about the same measurements, take out the dividing walls & get some foam pieces to custom fit the mixer. Then would get a 3 or 4 space rack for the player. |

Reason #1 I got a Behringer mixer over a DFX Mackie. I was willing to spend the extra money, I wasn't willing to have the headache of dealing with it. The Behringer Euroracks all come with the rack mount brackets and it's very happy in my SKB Mini Gig Rig (which I absolutely love). With all the Mackie mixers out there I can't believe there isn't someone selling the brackets aftermarket. --Guy |

They look great for the price, but in a side by side comparison, there is a huge difference in sound quality. |

Durability is certainly an issue I'm keeping an eye on, I haven't had enough use with it yet to rate it. So far I haven't had any problems. --Guy |
