This question is for anyone that owns legitimate Sound Choice products of any kind. This question is not for those that "purchased" in settlements but it certainly could apply to those that had to buy a disc or two that they could not find for an audit.

Uk based host. For the past 6months I've really needed a song only available on SC and CB, found a uk stockist with SC who sent the required disc but it was lost in the post  .

Started to make a custom burn disc but Clark music closed their doors.

Selectatrack added more CB and I brought the track.

So I've tried and failed to buy SC.

I made a bulk buy (300+ discs) in the last year that had 45 SC discs in the package. I already had 1/2 of them, but it was still a good buy.

Based on the reasoning behind this poll, I think this should count as a purchase.

I put within the year but I actually had a disc parked at Clarks when it shut down so it would have been within the last 6 months if I had gotten the money together in time.

I have some singers who love the rock and headbangers that were often songs only SC had done (or had done the best) and I had accumulated a request list long enough to justify a custom at the time Clark closed.

I haven't bought a Sound Choice disc since 2008. After I lost my original show, back in 2006, I bought some discs for myself, but then I stopped because I had what I needed. Since starting my own show, I haven't bought a damn thing from them, nor do I plan to, unless they change their ways.

I received my GEM in Jan of this year, but I buy in bulk as well as singles.

I have been buying Sound Choice regularly over the last three years.

I have two systems, one has a GEM core and the other has 700+ spotlights. I have purchased disks over the last two years to add "must have's" to the Gem and a few to put GEM songs on my main rig.

Thanks to those that have voted and posted. I wish I had thought ahead and asked about buying new. The point here is to see how much sales Sound Choice is getting from this small (and probably not realistic sample). I see people buying bulk and gaining SC discs. I see people buying used discs. I do see people buying (or trying to buy) custom discs. Only one that looks like they are buying discs new? Am I fairly accurate in my take so far?

My last purchase was a couple of customs through Clark toward the beginning and mid of the year. I had another ready to go when they shut down. Unless SC reinstates their custom cdg, I probably will not be buying anything new especially if it's only for 1 song on a disc. If I can find them cheap enough used (which is rare anymore) i'd be more inclined to a buy a disc for 1 or two songs.

just received 3 brand new SC spotlight discs in the mail today. Bought from an online retailer. Have bought at least 100 used SC discs in bulk buys in the last 3 months and 3 individual used discs from EBay.

I put six months cause I don't know when it was exactly but it was definately less than a year. In any case, I have bought several spotlight discs, a whole stack of custom discs that no sane person would pay that much for *which just goes to show something about my addiction* I also had the makings of 3 more custom discs that I was just waiting to find the money to buy and then clark music shut down.. *sigh*

I have not purchased any Sound Choice since 2007 or 2008. I purchased a few odd Sound Choice Power Pick or Spotlight Series on Ebay at what I thought was a good price. When I ripped the disc to the hard drive they were not in the Freedb system so I had to enter all of the disc information. This was around the time that I was switching from being original disc based to digital.

During online research on converting over to digital I started reading about Sound Choice cracking down on host that were using hard drives (Media Shifting). Since I was a kid I was always taught that the best way to stay out of trouble was to avoid trouble! Add in that for the few Sound Choice Disc that I had, I had to type in all of the disc information when I ripped them to the hard drive, I made the choice not to purchase any more Sound Choice products. I also pulled the Sound Choice disc out of my song books.

The majority of the singers at my shows are in the age range of mid 40's to early 60's and the song selections are mostly the older country songs with the preferred disc being Chartbuster.

Amazing as it may seem, from what I've read here, no one particularly cares about SC tracks anymore. Go figure.....

Doesn't seem amazing to me. That is what happens when a company is no longer relevant. Does anyone really care about Music Maestro, or All Hits?? Sound Choice will end up there. They are halfway there already. The sad thing is that Kurt is too blinded by his anger at piracy to notice what is REALLY going on.

I'm not sure if half of the people in the poll saying they bought SC within the past year translates to no one cares. But the odd thing is, let's say that no one really is buying it --why does it show up on most everyone's systems?

Agree! No one cares vs probably have all the SC tracks they need at this time are two different scenerios. I have some of my customers because I have SC. I still bought through the custom site simply because I could get the songs requested from the singers that no other company had that I needed without trying to find out of print discs or discs for 1 the one song. I still do care about where to get the remaining SC tracks I need because they are songs no one else has.
