One of the good things I feel about this site, is looking back on the comments I have given to see if I have had a reply, what baffles me more than anything is how some people can give replies and then miss one out in between, like im being ignored ? not mentioning any names ******** ****, But if I have done anything to upset you in anyway shape or form then please at least let me know to give me a chance to defend myself, instead of complietley ignoring me, I feel that if i am going to put the time into listening to your subs, and writting out a comment, then at least a little ty would be more than surfice.
I am only here for the pure fun of the site, I admit I dont have much of a singing voice myself, and I class myself more of a guitarist than a singer, I only sing Elvis songs, as that is my comfort zone, I am no great big fan of his, I just find my voice suits most of his music, I have so much fun recording my songs, and reading comments from the good people of this site, and thats why I keep on posting my songs, as I enjoy it here a lot, its great fun and there is so many nice people I have met on here as net friends.
I'm sorry to go on, but I have noticed this a few times, why do people do that ? miss out a comment and go onto the next one, like I wasnt even there, or they would rather not have me comment on there sub, if anybody feels like they would not like anymore comments off me, then please p,m me and just say you prefer me not to comment anymore, I would much rather prefer that to be ignored,

That actually happend to me but I was the one who skipped someone's comment. It was accidental and I wouldn't even have noticed if they hadn't PM'd me to find out if I was mad. I guess if it happens once you can probably assume it's accidental, but if they are repeatedly skipping you it may not be. I would suggest sending a PM to see if you get a response. If they still ignore you then I guess you shouldn't worry too much because you still have many friends on this site who do appreciate your comments.

My policy is always try communication it can't hurt. I have offended people and never even realized it until we communicated about it. Usually misunderstandings can be resolved it you make an effort.

I have seen that on someone's sub too, where I thought I was being constructive, and my comment was skipped out as well with a reply.

My solution...I just don't listen anymore. If I am going to take the time and comment, and then just get "skipped" I don't feel that it is worth my time (seeing as the front page is getting pretty crammed nowdays).

However, if it is the person's thing not to reply to anyones' comments, well that just may be their perogitive, and I will still go and listen.

I think that is just rude when people do that.....and I agree, if I say something you don't like or if it offends you, a PM would be sufficient as sometimes words don't come out as they should

I agree with wannabe that a good ol' PM to the person is the best way to clear the air! Direct communication is always the best I think! If the person doesn't respond to a PM then perhaps just avoid commenting on them! If you have given this person some constructive criticism in the past... perhaps you could further explain it better in a PM since we don't have much room to comment in that little box! I am always running out of room and it is frustrating... not so much because I have anything constructive or important to say ! But because the pleasure I get from this site is the connecting and talking to the members in that little comment box! And I am constantly shortening... going back and rewriting because it won't all fit! I realize the comment box is not for socializing... but why not? That's what makes this site so great for me... getting to know the people here a little better .... I know we have forums for that.... but... what's wrong with being able to chat a bit with the people who have taken the time and have been nice enough to leave a comment.... can we please have MORE space? PLEASE?! Rob.... if ya feel this person is upset with ya... go right to the source and ask.... it couldn't hurt... right? I remember a case in the past... (won't name names) where one guy left a negative comment on another guys submission.... and it was an all out war.... then they took it to PM... and realized how ridiculous it had been.... and to this day they are very good friends... all because they took the time to get to know each other a little better... which is hard to do in a little comment box!

chuckles....rob you have a good point sweetie, and if everyone acknowledged my subs as the amount i comment on others then wow i would look like a mega star olol....it comes down to time with some people but i have no doubt there are the ignorant few on here...and i do say few hehehe ...how can anyone want to ignore you...sheesh ya one of the nicest peeps on here!!!!

I'm with Sheree on this (again!). Why can't we have more room to comment back and so forth and socialize a bit? I think we all enjoy the banter back & forth. I know it's been said that's what the forum is for, but why can't we have both? And lots of smilies would be good too!

How does everyone else feel about this, just interested in everyone's input and it might keep Phil from getting too bored with nothing to do!

When I first started reading the SS I didn't "get" the back and forth banter thing but now I do. I love that daily or weekly check-in. I relish it - like a little meeting with everyone. It's quick and dirty, and doesn't take as much time as a formal pm would. Funny, yesterday I got skipped on someone's replying back too, but I know they're not mad at me so it had to be a mistake. But people deliberately leaving replies out...hmmm....don't wanna touch that one.

I've only submitted one song, but I'm guilty of this offense, if such it be. I didn't respond to all the comments, but not out of any animosity toward the commenters. It's just that I felt some of the comments called for a response, and others didn't. As far as thanking everybody who comments, I don't see anything wrong with just saying "Thanks to everybody who comments" at the top. I think that's implied anyway.

I don't see anything wrong with that either... it's up to each individual how to respond... you get what you give right? One person may find it time consuming to respond to each comment and another might find it a pleasure! I guess it all depends on what you are here for. Some people just want some constructive feedback... some want to share and enjoy the different people and what makes them tick.... some want all of the above! Of course it is time consuming ... no question about it!

Oh... BTW ... changing the subject.... it would be nice to be able to edit our responses.......... .......

oh and who's response would that be? (((hmmmmmmm))))
