Hi, does anyone know of any karaoke software that is optimized for touchscreen computers? Just for running karaoke shows at home and partys and stuff. I've searched on google and stuff like that but had no luck. Thanks |

I don't believe any of the software available at this time is actually optimized or formatted for touch screen. I know I have played with mine, MTU Hoster, via touch screen and it works fine without a mouse or keyboard, but at this time even some of the features are too small - even though they work - for a touch screen. |

I went to the Virtual DJ site to read up on this ContentUnlimited thing, which has a karaoke subscription from "MegaHits" (which has been determined to be reworked Chartbuster), and I vaguely remember reading that it said that their latest update included touch screen support... |

Any program CAN be used with touchscreen, it's just programs like COmpuHost or Virtual DJ are certainly not DESIGNED to be friendly as a touchscreen interface. Mouse sized buttons don't play well with big fingers. |

Yea, the thing i saw was definitely designed to be used with touch screen from the ground up, big buttons, really simple, anyone could just walk up and use it. Thought it would be cool for my karaoke partys rather than me having to control everything all the time. |

It's sounding like you may be thinking of a kiosk system where people go up and search their songs and then send it to the kj. The actual hosting software is not using a touch screen usually. |

CompuHost's kiosk add-on module is designed for a touch screen. |

I believe ALL of the kiosk softwares are set up to be used with touch screens. |

Songfinder does have a touch screen program but thats a book program not hosting |
And the complete system can be yours for only.....$5,498.94
Hi TopherM, I'm Jay Shoemaker from Jukebox Jockey. That price likely came from our "Bundle Builder" which includes speakers, lights, and everything. Considering you don't need this stuff, you might want to look at our software which is affordably priced and can be installed onto ANY PC. Jukebox Jockey is definitely the solution for touch-screen karaoke. And if you need help getting it setup, give me a call I do free consultations. Once you get it setup you'll be pleased you did. And yes, we are integrated with Karaoke Cloud Pro. In this scenario our software is FREE. http://www.jukeboxjockey.com <-- Where to get a standard version. http://www.jukeboxjockeyloud.com <--Where to get the Karaoke Cloud Pro version. |

After using the Allstar Karaoke Kiosk for the past few months, I can say without hesitation that the combination of an easy to use interface, great features, integrated esongbook and most important - the stability of the the software has made me a very happy customer... I've had lots of KJ's (many disc based) just fall over themselves when they see how easy it is to use. In the past few months I have never had a crash or hiccup. There was a power outage during a show one night and when it came back on the player was in the exact same state as it was... I really like the HD content and really hope they add more... in the meantime I have been getting stuff from other sites. I saw that they are running a sale so looks like that extra rig I been dreaming of is about to become a reality! http://www.karaokewh.com/computer-karao ... RefID=2026 |

It's funny someone called "Brad" apparently bought one of these systems from the UK distributors of this product as well, and gave it a very similarly worded review on a different website. What a coincidence... Anyway - personally i wouldn't touch this system, a friend of mine based in Finland tested one out and said it was utterly hopeless...looked and felt like something that was designed years ago, clunky, horrible and unreliable. Jukebox jockey is far superior in every way |

I think many of us think of jukebox karaoke to be the units that are sold to bars that are operated by customers and take the KJ out of the loop. |

Jukebox jockey is far superior in every way I don't claim to be the only "Brad" that does karaoke shows and parties, but I can say that I don't buy hardware from the UK I do like to judge things for myself and then make my decisions. Secondhand opinions are just that... and that's exactly what I did with this product. Clunky, horrible and unreliable...? Sorry to say that that certainly doesn't describe this product! |

The OP specifically was talking about home karaoke. For an Android tablet, I'd recommend Karaoke-A-Go-Go. It's $1 in the Google Play store, and is simple and reliable for playing mp3+g karaoke. For a Windows 8 PC with a touch screen, Sing-Magic works well, but is completely proprietary and only plays songs from it's own music site. However, for the last person I helped set up a home karaoke system, on the PC end I simply used Windows Media Player since it's free and she was familiar with it, and got her karaoke library started with all mp4 files. Most karaoke sites offer mp4 as a format option, and since she didn't already have anything it was a simple way to go. Also, there are many channels on YouTube with karaoke songs, and most YouTube downloaders download in the mp4 format, so that was a plus as well. Although she didn't have a touch screen, the latest version of Windows Media Player is optimized for touch screen usage. |
