I just finished watching the Karaoke Summit playback. They made mention of having a karaoke summit at the Las Vegas DJ Show with some of the Karaoke Summit folks being present.
I didn't see much value in the last DJ show I attended, but with a greater focus on Karaoke, I am interested in giving it another go. Plus I will be able to stay for the entire show this time. Interested in knowing if other are planning on going. I am looking at flights now.
For those of you that will not be going but may have questions, I will be happy to collect those and ask the appropriate people.
Please PM questions to me out of interest of keeping the thread clear.

That also perked my interest, but I didn't find anything at the Las Vegas DJ Show website to indicate that was true. Recently one seminar was added for "Various – Karaoke In The New Millenium." That not enough for me.

The Las Vegas DJ Show will have some karaoke information - including the 'Karaoke in the New Millenium' seminar.
Last year, Sound Choice and Karaoke Cloud both had a presence on the showroom floor as well. I actually stopped and talked to Kurt for about an hour last year. They were also present at many of the 'mixer' events as well so you can talk with them at length.
BTW, I've spoke the last two years at the Las Vegas DJ Show (and at Mobile Beat the year before), and will be speaking at the show again this year. It's a great show with a lot of information on many fronts. If you want more karaoke information feel free to contact Drax over at the ADJA and let him know...

We are actually thinking of going to the show as well. Would be cool to meet some of you if you are going.

It is always a great show with great content and you can not put a real value on the networking value you also get meeting others in the industry. The sharing of ideas over a beer does have value.

Anyone know of a deal on the VIP ALL ACCESS Passes? I noticed there's a place to enter a promotional code, the ticket "sale price" ends July 8th and I'm not a past conference attendee nor am I an ADJA member (do they really check?) Any real benefit from joining the American Disc Jockey Association? I also noticed during the Karaoke Summit they mentioned a new karaoke association that may also give a discount, anyone know anything about that?

I also noticed during the Karaoke Summit they mentioned a new karaoke association that may also give a discount, anyone know anything about that? There is a special deal for those that want to join the ADJA and also get the $49 member deal. (Yes, they do check because you would have to enter you membership number). There are lot of benefits to being a member of the ADJA espically if you have a local chapter to become involved with (note I said become involved not just join). The vale of networking is worth much more that the cost of dues. I suggest that you contact your local chapter and visit with them at a meeting and see what we are all about. There are also discounts of services available for members. Being an active member of my local chapter has cost me zero because I have more often than not had business shared with me but remember the ADJA is not a referral business. You have to become involved and get to know fellow members and quite possibly you will become friends and fellow business people helping each other grow their businesses. There is also the new part of the ADJA. The American Karaoke Host Association (for the ADKA) recently kicked off. It is geared fo the karaoke host around the country. Check it out for more information. I do not have the link available but just google it. Maybe this will help you decide

Sadly the closet ADJA chapter to me is over 100 miles away and is a "Chapter in Formation" (fewer than 10 full active members.) The American Karaoke Host website http://americankaraokehost.com/ appears to be a work in progress, but I sent them an message. We'll see what they say. I have two days to buy the tickets, and the difference between ADJA Member VIP All Access Passes and non-member All Access Passes is only $16 each. Either way, the hotel and plane are booked, so we're going.

Anyone know a good place / time to have a meet-up during the convention?. Maybe someplace with karaoke.

If you're looking for places with karaoke in Vegas check out their Karaoke monthly, "Las Vegas Lounge Entertainment Magazine".
