Due to the ownership of a pro resurfacer, I have no problem buying used discs, and often do so.

I just sorted through a box of discs that I bought at a yard sale Sunday. Chartbuster, Legends, SyberSound, DK and others. My cost averaged out to about 60 cents per disc, so it was a no lose situation.

Anyway, included were 8 or 9 DK multiplex discs. As most here know, I'm a big fan of DK, but I have never heard of them producing multiplex.

It gets weirder... The disc numbers of the series do NOT start with DK letters, but are "cmgUSA- (number)".

Suspicious, at least to me. However, after examining the discs VERY carefully - Printed on disc, no paper label, inner ring code dead on, and label matches the type made back then - 1992, including:

"c 1992 DAICHI KOSHO CO LTD. MANUFACTURED BY DAICHI KOSHO LTD. MADE IN JAPAN", in tight registration around the perimeter of the top of the label, the rights and disclaimers the same way around the perimeter of the bottom.

I believe that these discs are authentic DK without a question of a doubt.

I can't find the series are these numbers in my databases.

I thought that they might be samples- like SC's VPSC series- given away with machines, but these are usually marked as such, or simply "not for re-sale", and these aren't.

Anyone know anything about them?

I had DK multiplex laserdiscs. Not that that helps, but they did make multiplex music.

Here is a discussion a few years back on this very question.

Also musicbookdeluxe.com does have the entire series list. When searching look up DK CMG. 31 discs total.

They’re authentic, Joe. A kj friend gave me one years ago, don’t have it anymore. Yes, dk multiplex & can be played with or without vocals, exactly like this one:

I have one DK multiplex disc that I bought years ago in a grab bag of disc from karaoke.com. I'm pretty sure it is a Frank Sinatra disc. I may have to pull it out and take a look at it. So I think your disc is authentic.

I have a 1/2 dozen or so of the DK multiplex discs as well. I think you are all good.

I have 12 of the DK USA multiplex discs. I could not find any mention of them in KJPro. Mine are definitely factory original.
