With 840 pages of posts, I'm sure there has been a previous attempt to do this, but I am doing it for my own edification.
I remember when it was only DK, Pocket Songs, & Nikkodo in the market. At this point, I'm trying to establish the companies that are still alive & kicking (AND legitimate) in today's market.
I am honestly frustrated by these fly-by-night companies that are either dredging up the bones of defunct companies or simply throwing inferior renditions out for a quick buck.
Here are the legit CDG manufacturers (I believe) that are still in business:
All Star
Chartbuster
Party Tyme
Pocket Songs
Radio Starz
Sound Choice
Sunfly
Zoom

I would appreciate any feedback.

Good luck with what you're doing. I just finished a massive database of karaoke music in the last week or so. Took me way longer than expected (6 months longer). But, I felt accuracy was important.

Edit: And it's for sale. $50K and its yours.

All I am looking to do is to build a database for the history of Karaoke companies. I already have an excellent database for tracks, but I think its important to record the history of Karaoke. By the time the general public finds it worthwhile to read it will have become lost in conjecture and fuzzy memories.

Thanks for the update.

Although, I am restricting my database to physical stock (CDG, VCD, DVD, etc). The whole digital download genre is a mess that can be sorted out by someone else. ;)

Unfortunately digital is where it's going.
