good advice from Lonman!

I personally like the AKJ7000 or 7050 system. I have it in my home now. It's a mixer/amp, and hooks up to six microphones (three in front, three in the rear), and has multiple inputs for you to hook into. It reminds many people of a "home amp" in that it has the connections in the back, and a select switch.

Pushes out a pulsing 180 watts, I've never needed to get over a "four" on the volume dial! especially for home!

I have my jvc333 player hooked into it.

for about $800, you're all set.

My personal advice is for a home system, you don't need the spectactular outside mixer, when a mixer/amp does it for you.

Hey guys, Looking to get a home karaoke system that is really good, but not to expensive. Willing to spend about $1500 max for one. I wanted to get advice as to which one sounds better, separate components or all in ones. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Separate components will almost always sound better than all in one systems. But it also depends on how involved you want to get into it. Space limitations. Do you need it portable or not. Just a quickie. Mackie SRM350 - powered speakers with 10" Mackie DFX12 - mixer with eq & effects. A couple mics - I prefer the Shure SM58's Provided you already have a karaoke player, this system will run you right around 1500. Add a JVC/RSQ single tray for about $200 & you got a pretty kickin home system.

I agree. The Akj mixer amp is more than ample for home use. Quite frankly, you can easily annoy your neighbors if you crank the volume just a little bit.
