Headed to NJ Sunday night apparently. I think I will be in the area Sunday and Monday nights, maybe Tuesday but doubtful.

WHO IS OUT HERE???? JOE?

WOW, Rip! Could you pick a worse time or loacation!

OK, here we go:

As for me, Sundays I work a 3 bar rotation for the same owner, with one Sunday off- guess which one this is?

Not only don't I work on any Monday, I haven't seen a Monday show in the area for years.

There are currently no karaoke shows in Moonachie that I am aware of...

Now, some good news:

There IS a Sunday show about 20 minutes away.

Oak Ale House
24-26 W. Pleasant Avenue
Maywood, NJ
201/880-1551

It used to be run by a guy host named Johnny O, who wasn't bad. Don't know if he's still there or not.

Any other Sunday shows are much farther away.

If you decide to go, please let me know. I'm off, as I said, and if I can pry myself away from the house I would enjoy meeting you....

Where is Moonachie? I am not familiar with that name. Joe... what other towns/cities is that near?

Ripman, I will be working this Friday through Sunday nights in Pa., and getting home (NY) Monday morning. If you're still going to be around, I could drive out to "Joisey" and meet with you Monday night.... maybe find some place to eat out at, and if we can, find some place within a reasonable distance for Karaoke.

And remember, it's "MOO-knockee".

Not "Moo-Natchee" or "Moona-k-eye".

I did a bridal shower there once, out by the airport.

Ok, update with a few more details.

I will not be coming to Moonacheeze or whatever it's called. I have business Monday and Tuesday in Iselin, New Jersey. Haven't even made my hotel reservations yet as I just received an email an hour ago regarding the correct town.

I actually tried to get out of this trip today but the guy that is currently in NYC has a Mason meeting Saturday that only happens twice a year so I'm forced in to this.

Then I checked out this thread and came close to tears. Meeting one or more of you guys would make the trip worthwhile. Totally up for suggestions at this point. Ask Johnny, I can pull an all nighter if necessary!

I am indeed headed to New Jersey on Sunday. I haven't selected my flight yet, hell, I can come on Saturday if I wanna pay for the hotel Saturday night. Not against that. I do have a gig Friday so that limits my window a bit.

Up for suggestions.

Well, I know exactly where Iselin is... I drive through part of it en-route to my crash pad in PA when I am headed to work. As for who or where there might be some Karaoke in the area, I am not sure (as I don't really frequent NJ for Karaoke)... but, if you like ribs, I know of a pretty decent All-You-Can-Eat rib place in Old Bridge (about 10 minutes away from Iselin), and we could meet on Monday night.

I PM'd you.

Edit: I started looking for some Karaoke listings near Iselin. I found (and verified) the following for Monday night:

Roxy & Dukes Roadhouse
9pm-1am Every Monday!
732-529-4464
745 Bound Brook Rd.
Dunellen, NJ

Dunellen is about 10 minutes away from Iselin (maybe less). I called, and the woman who answered said that the show is on Mondays from 8 PM to closing. Bars close between 1 and 2 AM in NJ. I did not ask what format the KJ uses, so I have no idea if the KJ can play from personal discs or flash drives.

Damn that looks good Cue! If I end up there, I'm sure they have something I will sing. Hope it's not just me there!

Trip details STILL up in the air! I will know by tomorrow morning for sure. I may not fly in until Monday night. If so I may still be around Tuesday night.

Also possible I will only be around Monday night.

If I need to be on site Monday morning, I may come in Saturday night. Then I can spend some time in NYC on a Saturday night late and check out the Big Apple for the first time!

Trip set. Sorry Cue, I won't be flying in until Monday night. I will land at 6:50 in Newark, my hotel is supposed to be 11 minutes away.

I should have late afternoon Tuesday and that night to myself and fly out at 9:00 the next morning.

If I can't hook up with any of you, I'm going to take the train to Manhattan Tuesday night.

Who's up for a visit?

I could still meet you this evening (Monday) if you're not too tired. One of my favorite restaurants is in Newark.... A nice Spanish/Portuguese restaurant.

Hey Rip.... it was nice to finally meet you. I had a nice time, and thank you for dinner.

Like I said, if I get back from dinner with my Mother early enough, I might hook up with you in Manhattan (if you're still planning to go there). I am not really up on what shows are around in Manhattan (since I haven't done the Manhattan circuit in years), but I'm sure you'll find something. If you do find something on the internet for Manahattan shows, and you see a host listed as "Sexual Chocolate," AVOID that show at all costs!!! "S. C." has one of the WORST sound systems that I can remember.
