Last night (Saturday)I stopped into a venue near my house hosted by Knightshow Entertianment. I've driven by that particular venue for years but had never taken the time to stop and and try it. It was about midnight, and I stayed for about an hour then had to leave. I sang one song, a swing song, Zoot Suit Riot--(I am after all THE SWINGCAT). I really enjoyed myself. The people were really attentive and involved in the show. The staff was very helpful and enthusiastic. The sound system was really good and the DJ very helpful. All in all a good place to go---I'll be back again. Song selctions we're quite good and the books themselves in an excellent easy to use format. Anyway this was the only venue where someone who is a regular poster on KS is that I know of here in my town. Anyone else ever visit shows put on by KS visitors? The only other person whos shows I've been to is MANNY PACHECO on THATS KARAOKE INTERNET RADIO SHOW here on KS at both of the venues he KJ's at in L.A. |

Never been to Matts show, but would like to head down there for a weekend. He's been to mine a couple times - it was a blast! I went to Eirehead's (Liane), not a real regular poster, but has asked some tech questions here. My group & I had a good time that night, would most likely return when we go back her way. |

I was sitting on the other side of the bar! I'm grooming Julie to take over my show for the next three months... she's still got a couple of issues... but overall, she's a very good KJ. But my presence makes her nervous... so I try not to "hang out" there too much on her night hosting. Anyway, thanks for stopping by! I did hear your song, and enjoyed it! |

I think we should start a thread or similar where members and browsers of this site can go to to get info regarding other members show lacations. This would be great for people traveling away from home and maybe looking for some quality karaoke venue's to go to. I would personally be happy to have someone come to 1 of my shows and say "hey I went and checked out Outlaw. This would be bennificial in a few ways in that if you do things a little differently than someone else (which we all do), we could essentially learn from each other - ie: tricks, tips, shortcuts, etc. It would also be helpful in the sence that you can only say so much in this room, meaning that some things just have to be heard or experienced to be fully understood &/or appreciated. I would love to see that edition to this forum!!! Jay - Outlaw Entertainment |

We have a section where registered members can list themselves: The KJ Directory. Also, we have a section where members can list venues: The Club Directory I will see about adding some additional features to these sections. Phill |

one thing I'd love to see added to the club directory would be where you could put in a text box of say thirty words or so... Things like: 10,000 songs unduped computerized rotation first come, first served rotation and allow a web addy for those with websites! |

Since it's likely I'll be in Pensacola around Thanksgiving I'll be trying to hit some of the shows in the Southeast US. Probably pop over to Mobile to catch StarKaraoke and maybe even drop down to Orlando or up to the Atlanta or Nashville area. I'll be looking for shows of the people that post here as the time draws closer... |

Don't know yet... haven't been in town for close to 2 years so I don't know any place that does karaoke. Will check into it though... maybe StarKaraoke could let us in on the competition (sort of) if she knows anyplace (she's 50 miles away in Mobile, but up here 50 miles is a short commute). |

Hi yas guys. I dunno if Pensacola will be all back up and running. Ivan dealt them a horrible blow in more ways than one. Go to http://www.WPMI.com and look at the video's of destruction. the I-10 bridges are badly damaged. Many still have no power, and other utilities. It may be 6 months before all is close to a semblance of normal. There will be one I-10 bridge open by Thanksgiving, in fact before that. If you don't have to cross Escambia Bay on I-10 then you have no worries. I would LLLLLOOOOOVVVVVEEEE to have you stop in. Let me know when you fist get in your name so I can get you into the rotation! I used to know of a woman named EVIE who did shows in Pensacola but I duuno now. My shows are always current on my web site, but I have had my 3 night a week show for 8 years running in one place. If you need directions besides the MapQuest.com link let me know. I have been busy getting ready for Bay Fest this weekend. I do 2 afternoon shows for the kids and adults with my small heavily edited library. I use a lot of the multiplex discs but I list only the instrumental tracks. Kids who can't read but can sing along love to use these. The storm blew out the signs around town so make sure I get with you so you can find me. Email a phone number and I will call. JD I have no way to contact you. I have been wondering how you have been doing. You have been in my thought for a while now. |

Hey Knightshow----i remember the bartender too! He was really enthusiastic gettin my drink for me and helping the ohter custies. He seemed to really enjoy the song too --paid close attention and eye contact. I ALWAYS try to find songs that NOBODY ELSE does. That way they hit the crowd from left field and catch their attention. Only a few people sing Zoot Suit and even fewer do it well--same thing with the blues songs I sing or the jazz versions. Ill sliip in an earth wind and fire song from time to time. And the perfect lead-in to a dance set is to sing Brickhouse. But my MONEY song is COOL LIKE DAT---(Digable Planets) that gets the whistles always. And Moondance is my signature song. Go listen on the singers showcase--there 5 of mine on it. As an aside--I was coming back from being out on assigment Friday night(after doing a cover story and shoot for the CBA BLUES NOTES) and dropped by your venue but there was no Karaoke I guess on Friday night. |
