Where can I find patch panels? or maybe you can help me find what I am looking for.
What I am trying to do is put like 1/4 female plugs and xlr female plugs on the side of my rack box for easy plug and go. I am tired of hooking my speaker cables into the amp everytime, it is a pain to open the box up. (I am lazy)
I have seen patch panels but I don't need 24 ports just like 2-6 ports where can I find these?
Thx

Most of these types of panels are home or custom made from sound shops. It's time consuming but you can buy all the jacks & bare wiring you need & start working.
You don't want a patch bay (I think this is what you are thinking of with the 24/48point jacks), you are trying to hardwire all your equipment in your rack so you don't need to open it up anymore & plug everything right to the case itself - correct?

Not really. A trip to radio shack, a blank mouting plate, a drill, solder, wire and a free afternon.
Mount up the connect points on the panel first. And then start making cables.
Another option is to purchase inexpensive cables, lop one end off and solder them up to the panel connections. Considering XLR lo-Z mic cables can be had from Musician's Friends for $2.99 or $20 for 10 it's not a bad deal to cut ends off if you're making up the other end yourself.
BTW, remember to double check your wiring, watch for cold solder joints and shorts. Test them all w/ a multimeter or Swizz 6-in-1 type tester before hooking up to the equipment.
