Hi Keith here
Hope some one can throw some light on this problem
I have invested a large sum of money on a laptop solely to use for my karaoke. Hoping it will not turn out to be a white elephant?????
I have a selection of cdg disks, around 325 disks which is simplicity in its self as you probably know, the punter wrights down there name track number eg 215-6 . To which you can find and have in your player within ten seconds,
The laptop is now loaded with aprox 716 disks ranging from all sunfly dkk sc zoom and many others, which I have loaded into sax and dotty show holster.
My problem is, messing around at home is fine but my nightmare began when I decided to take my laptop out on a venue. The first person gave me a slip with my way they wanted so sing, ok I type In my way press enter and at least twenty to thirty different titles come up with My and WAY in the title so it takes to long to find a song plus enter the singers name ( I no this is not necessary ) I found that I spent most of the night typing instead of doing my normal show I found it was very time consuming to sort out tracks. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a better way of using sax and dotty. It would be fantastic if you could rename all your tracks into numbers so all you did was hit for example 231- 16 and that one track would appear. But this would not be possible because all tracks with number 16 would appear? I realize that all tracks have there own unique track number example ZOOMPA12 10 but it would be great if you could
Forget the ZOOPA and just hit 12-10 I will be going back to the disks for the time being until I get this problem sorted
Regards
Keith

Try using quotes around the song title. Won't promise it will work, but it works for most search engines.
That aside you can try dragging them into sax/dotty from the folder which should be set up as c:\karaoketracks\discnumber\track-song.zip or something similar.

I would just go directly to the track...
I have my database set up with manufacturers... so the people turn in their slip with a song number... if they don't, they're told to look it up. I'm far too busy doing everything else to do what they're supposed to do on my song slips!

I have averything listed by artist - title. I don't even use disk number anymore. If I was looking for Frank sinatra my way, I would simply type, "sinat way" without the quotes. Works great. Good Luck.
