Post subject: | Karaoke version of Honey Chile |
I am looking for a song that was recorded by Martha and the Vandellas and also by Fats Domino entitled "Honey Chile". Can anyone tell me if there is a Karaoke Version of this song and if so, where can I find it? I appreciate any help I can get. Thank You, karaokepete |

Just plug in "karaoke" or "cdg" into a search engine such as google, and millions of online karaoke stores will pop up. The stores usually have a "search" button near the top, so just plug in your song name and you'll find out soon!! There's so many stores, you're bound to find one. |

I did a search and didn't find anything. Doesn't mean it's not out there, just might be REAL hard to find. Seeing as how the song (honey chil') didn't come as being on CD by either of them (when I searched CDDB), it's likely going to be a LONG LONG time before you see it if it's not already out. If you have it on an album you could try to record it to the pc and remove the vocals. |

I don't know if you're familiar with this song but it's got a good beat and insturmental...I may have to give up the search. I understand some songs don't make it to karaoke. Anyway, thanks again for the reply. I'll leave my post just a little while longer. |

In reality, MOST less popular & off the wall songs don't make it to karaoke unless they are HEAVILY requested to manufacturers to produce it. Most manufacturers stay in the mainstream & make songs that had Top 10, Top 20 rankings, not to say they don't do something that wasn't a huge hit, it's just rare. There are also often times licensing issues that make a karaoke track for less popular song not worth doing it on karaoke & being that song is a Motown issue, it probably won't ever make it. |

The Singing Machine is doing Motown releases as 'Original Artists'. IIRC they have a set available and are also available as individual discs (I have a couple - the quality is not the best, but they're ok). It's mostly the more common Motown stuff, but if they've overcome the licensing hurdle a friendly email to them might be able to get them to review some of the less well known songs. |

Yeah but like you said they are the most common stuff that many manufacturers already had rights to anyway. Only cool thing is they are from the original masters - original music, not a karaoke rendition. |

Thanks so much for your reply. On my post I said that song was recorded by Fats Domino as well as Martha and the Vandellas. Someone sent me the Fats Domino version of "Honey Chile" and after listening to it I realized it was not the same "Honey Chile" as the one recorded by the Vandellas. I will try your suggestion though, it's worth a try. Again, thanks for your e mail. Regards, karaokepete |
