Post subject:  Recording with CEP and Creative Audigy 2nx.

I have tried to record a single track in Cool Edit Pro from the software sound generator in the multi track edit while playing another track.
However both sounds played, track & the sound source are recorded instead of sound from source or generator alone.
I have tried everything I can think of .. There seems not be any way to set it the way I want.. Being recorded sound of generator "only" without monitored second track.
Is it possible to achieve with Audigy 2nx?
Someone please help.. This is driving me nuts!

did you click the little "R" on the second track to record ? then click the record button >(bottom left) to play the first track and record the second.(Vocal) track . good luck

I think that's down to your soundcard settings, not CEP.

You need to make sure that your input is set specifically to the track you want to record, ie if its a vocal, you need to set your input to Mic. If you have it on mix, stereomix or whatuhear, its going to record the lot.

I am doing all that Denndogg.... Don't know why I still hear the actual music when I am only recording the vocals.. I am going to try Atomic's suggestion. I'll make sure I have this new soundcard configured correctly for what I am trying to do.. Thank you guys for attempting to answer my post... I'll let you know if I have any success with this.

It was the soundcard!! I fixed it.. I went in and changed some of the options.. Hurray!!!! :-) Thank you both, but thanks Atomic for steering me in the right direction.. I had contacted the people at Creative and they led me to believe that it was a problem with Cool Edit Pro.. So glad to finally have this resolved.. Now maybe I can actually produce a decent recording.. :D

Yeah from ALOT of experience with software/hardware support people, I can tell you that you will never get any good help if you mention a 3rd party program, they will to 99% of the time always blame the other manufacturers software because "their product" is never at fault.
