Has anyone tested the new Vocopro DA-9800 RV mixing amplifier? Please let me know if it's worth buying.

Forget the Vocopro, Get an Audio2000 AKJ7000 or AKJ7050 mixing amp and you'll be happy for years. |

All of the above , I went through two vocopro Amp/mixers In as many years. Altho I really liked the sound of them THEY ARE VERY UNRELIABLE.I bought two AKJ 7050's four years ago , the second one just in case the main one was to go out. It never has , nor has it given me a problem whatsoever and they also sound great !. good luck ! |

Hey Lon...In an earlier post you mentioned using the effects loop on the AKJ. Does that meen I could hook up a mixer to use for mic's as well as for mixing the music ?I would like to get the Chorus effect for my mics for recording to pc (singers showcase) I was thinking about getting a Numark 200FX . Watcha' think ? |

KJ Dogg, I have a 31 band EQ looped into my mic loop on the AKJ7000. You can loop anything you would like to enhance your mic sound via that loop Tip: Never use the "Loud" function. |

Watcha' think ? If you are going to want to hook up a separate mixer for the mics, you may as well use the separate mixer for the whole thing, music included. The Numark is a dj mixer so it is not set-up to do live sound mixing. The loop that is on the AKJ is for an external effects/sound processor - if i'm not mistaken, I honestly haven't ever tried - I don't use those types of systems. |

Ohh ,my bad. I thought the Numark 200fx was a live mixer since it has five mic inputs. I was just wonderin' if there was also a way to connect it to mix the music at the same time as the mics as I've niver used a seperate mixer. (mostly because I'm outta room on my small rack) It has a solid top. But thanks for the help.

Thanks for all the replys. I was testing out that new Vocopro yesterday with BMB speakers and Hisonic wireless mics. For some reason the vocals just arent clear sounding. I have decided to return the Vocopro and go get a Mackie DFX 12 and Crown amp. Please let be know if the BMBs karaoke speakers are reliable and worth keeping. Thanks |

The BMB's are "karaoke" speakers, so no they aren't going to be that great. For one thing they are generally too small for anything to sound good out of them, definately no bass response. You already heard them with the VocoPro, they aren't going to sound that much better with a Crown amp behind them - they will sound better, but not much, plus they don't handle any kind of power, so with the power of a quality amp behind them, you'll probably pop them within a month. What model Crown are you thinking of. If possible stay away from the XLS series. These are their low ball amps & don't sound very good. In speakers, I would look for something with a minimum 15" for any kind of club use & a minimum 12" for home use - although i'd still go with the 15" for better bass response. Cheap doesn't equate to good sound when it comes to amps & speakers - these are what will be reproducing your sound. Get the best you can afford in amps & speakers. |

Lonman, thanks for your advice so far but I still need help. My media room is 20 x 28 and I want the best karaoke setup there is. Money is no object. Can you please help me choose the right equipment? Thanks |

I would like to add that I honestly have ZERO experience with the VocoPro... I've never operated one of their units, but I have been to several shows that do. And I know a few online people that use them. They DO seem to inspire a very loyal following... so they can't be so bad! My personal preference lies towards the RSQ, JVC, and Audio2000 equipment... and that's when my opinion is strongest. Obviously Vocopro is solid, otherwise they would have perished into oblivion some time ago. But they have a solid web presence, and that has to be respected. I've just found the other equipment to be more to my personal tastes! Matt |

Denndog, I use a BBE Sonic Maximizer on the music loop and a 31 band EQ on the mic loop, Nice sound and very controllable. |
