Post subject:  SCDG ....IS IT WORTH IT?

Hi
Im looking to start Buying equipment and was wondering if SCDG (super) machines and disks were the way to go. It seems I'd only need a few disks rather than hauling thousands. Just a thought . thanks in advance for any input.

Well, if it got scratched, broke, stolen, etc..., what would you rather lose, 8-20 songs on a regular disc or 200+ songs on a super disc? Especially if they are popular songs to sing, I wouldn't want to be explaining all night that 1 disc is shot but it contains most of the good songs.

Just my take.

What would keep you from burning a back-up set for just such an emergency? I like the idea.

Agreed... the subject of backing up the disc is a solid arguement.

However, I've been at a show where they have the super cdg, and the versions are okay at best...

Sorry, I just never liked Chartbuster that much. I have like six of their discs, and to be honest, have been replacing them as much as possible.

I'm no fan of the older Top Hits monthly, and I do PREFER the Pop Hits Monthly normally, but I do admit that THM does get some songs (dunno about how legal they are) that other manufacturers just can NOT get! So having that there is a boon.

Many of the Music Maestro and Star Discs are pretty good, but when I see I'm getting 500-100 songs that are of questionable quality, it just doesn't sound that great to a professional jock.

Now, if the OTHER manufacturers jump on the bandwagon, then YES, I'll jump into it!
