Looking for a good wireless headset mic ...looking in the price range of $200.00 ( That's why I said GOOD and not GREAT) . Already tested a GEMINI Headset ( junk). I use a Audio Technica "Hand Held" and for the money ($99) it is very good. I'm not sure how there headset model would be. Looking to use it for singing and annoucing so it has to be good sounding and comfortable. Anyone using HEADSET MICS...recommendations? |

Headsets are only going to be as good as the money you put into them. You have to figure the mic is about 1/4" - 1/2" diaphragm which will not give you very good sound in the cheaper models - the more pricier models tend to have fuller sound but that's why they are what they cost. The cheaper ones usually require VERY heavy equalization to make them sound barely acceptable. Look at the AKG C444 wireless. The model is comfortable, it goes around the ears & around the back of the head, not over the top like most. It is ok sounding but still requires some pretty hard eq'ing. Make sure you have a compressor on any headset as well since there is no mic control - the mic is always at your mouth, you can't back off. |

Lon, The AKG is $600..little more than I want to spend right now. I saw a Shure Headset Single Antenna VHF for $228. I don't think I could go wrong with Shure even though it a low end model . I'll keep shopping to see what else is out there in my price range. Thanks Tony |

I picked up a Samson through SamAsh on the web for a little over $300.00. This was on sale for more than half off and they usually put it on sale a few times a year. It normaly runs about $700.00. It has some great sound. They have the Samson Airline Vocal Headset Wireless Microphone on sale now for 369.99. 41% off and only 2 left. |

I use a Samson also, but not the airware line. To get the best sound, as cheaply as possible, I bought the samson stage 2 'true diversity' package, and bought an AudioTechnia headset. Be careful- the AT headset is XLR, and the body pack is 1/8"- but there is a converter that reliably able to do the conversion. The stage 2 was $99, the headset $89. Sounds great, and cheaper than going all AT. |
