This is my first post, let alone thread. I have made my own karaoke CDGs using Dart karaoke and they have been successful (I found legal instrumentals of songs that no one has yet to release anywhere... specifically old pearl jam songs).
Anyway, they have been successful... to a point. I made it using Dart and saved it as a Bin file, I used MP3+G Toolz to give the bin file a matching cue file, and I used CDRWIN to burn it to a cd. My cheapie sharper image KTV player reads it fine. I get to the KJ, they put it in... it doesn't see the CDG data and appears to think it is but an audio CD disk (blue screen, no music).
They have two Karaoke CDG players there: JVC XLMV303 and JVC ESQMV333... very similar in appearance.
I have looked high and low for this information. If anyone could help me, it would mean a lot. Thank you.

Sorry guys... I found the technical forum. I am referring this thread there.
I tried to find the delete option, no dice.
(BUT, if you know the answer --- feel free to reply just the same.)

What software programs and settings do you use... again:
A. I created it with Dart Karaoke, saving it as a bin.
B. I added a cue file with MP3+G Toolz.
C. I burned it with CDRWIN.
It works fine on my home karaoke player - KTV, but neither of the JVC triple trays this KJ used.

same burning software... I don't use the cue files though.
what home player do you use? What's a KTV?
As cheap as the jvcs are, you should think about getting one of them, if not a single tray!

1. CDRWin will burn Bin files without the cue file?
2. KTV is a cute little colorful karaoke player. All the play/stop/etc controls on the mic itself. It works just fine, it's portable... I'm happy with it. (KTV = Karaoke TV, they sell them at sharper image now... got it on EBAY for $40 including shipping).
3. I'm not a KJ anyway . But I do karaoke 2-3 times a week these days.
Hmm... so I'll try burning without the cue file.
It could be the JVC model you know. They might have an older one that doesn't read CDRs correctly. I was thinking that was the answer I was going to get. But I was hoping I was just doing it wrong...

Quote: 1. CDRWin will burn Bin files without the cue file? you BET it will... just click OFF the option to make that!
The thing I like about the triple tray is it makes a terrific home player! I have it hooked up at home as a personal player for my stereo!

My mistake... it turns out I was using Nero.
So I tried CDRWIN yesterday (5.0A) and it didn't burn properly. Didn't know what settings to put it at, but there was a RW (CD+G) option I checked off. But Mode 1, Mode 2? TOC type? Anyway, it failed the burn early on. Then I made a virtual drive with the bin file and did a 1:1 copy to a disk. Out of the 4 tracks, only 2 and 3 worked on my KTV, and I went to karaoke last night... still didn't work on their player (same KJs).
My next attempt is to try CDRWIN 3.9A... people seem to have better success with that one.

to get a DART made CD to work
- burn first track also as track two
- when playing track 2, choose track 2 and use the jog shuttle to go back into track on by a few secs, and let it play through to track 2 and it should work
