I am a hobbyist KJ and after schlepping all my gear a couple of times, I have decided the best thing to do is rack mount it all. I have to mount: 1 - Behringer PMX2000 1 - JVC XL-SV22 1 - Sony TC-FX170 Where can I find generic rack mounts that I can modify for the CDG and Cassette player? I know I will have to foam-wedge the mixer in place, but there outta be some options for the other two. Thanks, Rendermore |

Instead of trying to jury rig something together to rack mount things not designed that way, I've purchased shelves from hytechgear.com that work great. The shelves are rack mountable, and you can get them with a trap bar on the top to keep things from falling off the shelf even when inverted. |

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the site you mentioned and they didn't have what you suggested. I think I am going to call around to steel fabrication shops in the area and let them shock me with their price to fabricate two pair! Rendermore |

Check out http://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-MID-RC3.html This is a 3 space clamp shelf for the players. You really don't need to rack the mixer, this would same you some money on the rack as well. For the players you would only need a 6 space rack. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid ... d/540624/# Otherwise you would need a 16 space rack to rack everything. These are larger to haul & more expensive. |

Grundorf and Odyssey make many racks/cases and you might find something that works from them. |

all that gear will fit in any 16 sp. rack case and the sv-22 will need a trap rack mount from mid atlantic. with i believe 2 spaces to spare (I believe) I own a sv-22 and it sits in my home recording rack. After breaking my ankle yesterday i'll get to know it alot better.

Rendermore: I have a system I use from time to time consisting of the same Behringer PMX2000 and a JVC triple tray. I found it more of a convience NOT to rack mount this setup, The player fits nicely right on top of the mixer and is easy to hook up and tear down. Racks whether wood or molded plastic are costly and add not only weight but volume/space to your set up. Because the PMX is a powered TABLE top mixer its not too easily rackmounted and will take up plenty of space. I guess if its a staionary set up ...It really doesn't matter.... but for me this set up would be best UNMOUNTED. |

my recording rack it's extremely simple go to the singer's showcase I have posted a thread... the only thing not mentioned was a surge supressor and a rack power conditioner by Furman. The mixer is not wired. I use the onboard program mixers.. Now I have replaced my cakewalk programs for Sound Forge's "Audacity" it's a VST version of Protools. almost.. really nice.. kinda like a "Home" version of NUENDO. PM me if ya need a couple of other rack solutions anytime.
