Really there is NOT an Digital input console out there for $100.00 or less..
as much as I hate to say it.. but again, You DO get what you pay for..
If you did buy a $100.00 console is a $100.00 piece of junk.

Hello... I tried searching the forums for DVD setup help. I bought a CAVs 202G DVD Karaoke Unit. I also have a Sony Digital Receiver. I can play Karaoke DVDs with no problem through the Digital cable output. When using Digital, my microphone will not work... unless I switch to Analog cables. I'm sure there is something I'm missing to make the microphone work through the digital cable setup. Please point me in the right direction. Thank you, Brent |

Some players don't work with the digital output with the microphones. You need to use the analog out! |

Okay, thanks for the reply. The instructions with the DVD player show a digital only connection as an option... but it doesn't make it clear about if the Karaoke option will work with it. I will contact CAVs.... thanks again. |

If you want to have a satisfactory karaoke experience, a mixer is essential. I am not aware of any player that takes the analog mic input, digitizes it , mixes it with the music and outputs it via the optical or coaxial digital output. Even if it did, you still will not be able to fine tune the sound as you would with a seperate mixer. |

It all depends on your preferences. Karaoke style mixers are good bets for the home user. Controls are straightforward and it is easy to dial in a good sound. The units include independent volume controls for music and microphones, balance, echo volume, delay and repeat controls, independent bass and treble controls for both music and mics. Brands such as Audio2000s or Vocopro should suit you fine. You can find those models on the various karaoke retailers websites. (DTSkaraoke/ Acekaraoke, etc. If you want to upgrade to XLR mic inputs and want to fine tune your sound similar to a pro, you may want to go with one of the mini mixers like the Alesis that Lonman recommends. In that style of mixer, I like the Mackie DFX6. However, the Mackie does not have a mid eq control (just high and low). Behringer also makes inexpensive mixers, but I have not had good experience with their gear from a quality perspective. All in all this style is more versatile, but a bit more cumbersome to use. |

for standard Karaoke experience, especially in the home, the Alexis mixer is just fine. |
