Post subject: | Ripping to MP3+G labling issues |
Hi - I am moving to a PC based Karaoke system. But when I try to rip CDgs to Mp3+G I have some pronblems with the labeling. Artist, Title etc. In the ripping software the tracks to not show up with names, just unknown artist etc. I am using PCDJ KJ. And PCDJ FX. The KJ part does not have a ripper even though thte guys at Visiosonic claim it does but for some reason my version will not update, so I use the FX ripper but there are no names for artist, and title. Am I going to have to enter all this info by hand. I tried a different demo ripper from terasoft but same problem. Also tried the Hoster demo but same problem. I know there must be a way around this. Some of my disks do get the info in terasoft but sound choice and my DK disks just give me unknown artists. Is there some software with a decent data base on the info. I was told the info is encapsulated in the CDGs but it does not show up. Help - save me from days of data entry. I'd rather be singing. |

just shaddup and type it. Once it's done, you're all happy. All of us did! In all seriousness, do you have your list available in any format such as Excel or word? Try cutting and pasting, or converting your excel list to .txt... then it's a simple matter of copying that. |

Matt, Yeah I know the the feeling, I'm too busy after doing the Priddis CDG's on PCKJ to wanna do that crap again. Glad I sold most of the systems reciently. I'm going to enjoy the summer before all the work begins in a few months again. |

Post subject: | Tried MS Access?? |
If you have MS Access, I'd suggest using it rather than a word processing or even spreadsheet application. If you have Access and are interested, I know where you can get a database, configured for easy data entry. It has reports that create song lists/books by artist or song. There's one report that will create cd labels, if you choose to make backups for everyday use. It does not, however, type for you - unfortunately. |

I use CDG Ripper to compress to mp3+g and it has a good database. Just a suggestion... |

webrabbit, The demo version of MTU Hoster states on it that it has a limited database. It is meant as a demo only to see if your existing equipment will work with the software. I have loaded over 1500 cdg's into my hoster system, and it DOES have the a Database in the program that automaticaly puts in the artist name, title, brand and cdg #. It also now has a search feature, and are adding support for multiplex, and mp3 +G. |

I agree that hoster is a great software but it's not cheap! I would also recommend an excellent software that not many people know about that does EVERYTHING Karawin Pro. |
