I have seen several 1046s for sale on the PSW Marketplace recently (srforums.prosoundweb.com click Marketplace.) I saw a slew of 1066s for around what you paid also, but I need other things before I go on the rid-myself-of-Behringer quest.

Man I forgot how much difference a good compressor on the main inserts sound. I just replaced my dbx 166 with a dbx 1066 and the sound improved quite a bit with a subtle touch of compression & limiting. |

The Driverack does a pretty good job of it too.... |

That was my first choice, but didn't have the funds. Found this one for $129. |

Awesome price. The 1066 is what I want to upgrade to, from Behringer comp/gates. The cost difference is pretty big, but so is the sound. |

yeah I got lucky on a buy it now option off of e-bay. Only thing wrong with it was a mark on the screw hole where it was mounted in the rack. I'm trying to find a great deal on a dbx 1046 right now for my mics. I have 2 single channel Symetrix 501's right now and a dbx 266XL, although the 1046 isn't as good as the 501's IMO, it would definitely free up a couple spaces in my rack. There's a 1066 up right now on ebay for $180 BIN. Still a great price. |
