Hi,
I am very new here and would like to congratulate you all on a great site. I have been reading other members posts for a while and hope someone can help me with a few problems. I have a home setup that we use at family bbq's. I have provided some info that may be of some assistance.
2 x Peavey SP 5xt Speakers
1 x JVC Tripple Tray CDG Player
1 x Bellani Mosfet Amp
8 ohms 165 watt per channel
4 ohms 268 watts per channel
Bridged 8 ohms 504 watts
2 x Sennheiser E835 Microphones
I am getting major distortion out of the speakers during some (especially the latest) audio cd's when they are played. This also happens to many of the cdg's that I have. The songs produced by Nutech seem to be much better than the All Hits and Legends cdg's. Sometimes even when the music is not playing the voice through the mic is distorted. Then within the same breath I will play another song and the singer/mic and music will be really clear and sound fine. I don't understand much about the gear I have, as we only wanted a home setup that wasn't expensive and that could handle some happy drunks. I am not technically minded and would appreciate any help as it sounds really terrible.....
Thanks
Alisa

Since I'm not familiar with your Bellani amp I did some quick searching, if I'm reading correctly the Bellani is a pre amp which is feeding another amp? If you're plugging your JVC player into the pre amp you are probably overdriving the amp. If there is another input on the amp, try using that and bypass the pre amp.

I'm not familiar with that amp either. Does it have mic inputs? If so, are you plugging your mics directly into them or into the mic jacks on the front of the JVC player. If you're going into the JVC player jacks, it will sound terrible. Mine always did. When I plugged them directly in an amp with mic inputs, everything cleaned up quite nicely. Just my .02 worth.

Since Nutech is "usually" recorded at lower level, sounds like you shoud turn the input of your player down and your mains up
