So, I haven't ripped any cdg's lately, and thought I would to try recording again. (I've done it in the past on my laptop, so I know it's capable.) I use AudioGrabber. I've tried 3 cdg's with the same result... On all of them (literally every song from every cdg), the lyrics are all garbled. I've never had this happen, usually even if I'm doing it to remake a disc that has a slight scratch, AudioGrabber usually rips them just fine so I can burn them. I'm not a techie person at all, what would cause this? Should I just delete and reinstall the program, or is there a better one out there? ![]() |

On a side note: Please don't talk to me about the legalities of ripping my own cdg's to my hard drive, it's just so I can record the songs... I'm not a KJ. ![]() |

Try the CD+G Ripper from karaokeware (Maker of CompuHost). They overhauled their program to the latest technology. I haven't had a problem yet with garbled screens. The latest version even has a FreeDB query. Means, you don't necessary need their songbook program to save you time in typing all the tracks. Best of all, it is completely free! ![]() http://www.karaokeware.com/CDGRip.html |

Thank you. Just downloaded it, figured out how to set preferences, and did the CDDB lookup (it named the songs all correctly ![]() |

.... Seems to be a wee bit slower, it's only on song #6 out of 15. ![]() But I don't normally rip a whole disk, and usually only insert the mp3 into my recording program anyhow... so if they're clear, I'm good with this. |

Well, for crise sake, I was in a bit too much of a hurry... didn't set the output file format correctly, they wouldn't play. Deleted the ones it had done, cancelled the job, reset it to the right format, and I've checked the first 4 it ripped...... perfect:) Thanks a ton. I moved into an apartment, and haven't even bothered to set up my home system (they'd kick me out, i'm sure ![]() Easy program to use, and seems to be doing it fine, so case closed. Again, thanks for helping. So.... neighbors beware, I'm hooking up my mic and headphones. ![]() ![]() |

I actually prefer Power CD=G burner for a ripper to audiograbber. Im not familiar with the one that Severin suggested, might be a good one as well. Power CD+G Burner has a rip and a copy function that works well. |

Thanks mrscott..... I tried this CDGRip, and it seems to work ok. It is slower it seems than Audiograbber. But, then again, I ripped the whole cdg and I don't normally do that. It worked- no garbles- so that's good enough for now. I don't do this very often, I usually just insert the wav off the cd into CEP and just sing along- I have no way to actually "play" it as I'm singing into CEP. Well, until here comes Vicki with a suggestion. ![]() MorganLeFey @ Mon 16 Nov, 2009 11:26 am wrote: by the way charm, there is a way to use the graphics in the likes of adobe audition if you are interested.

btw Vicki, I think I have a really old version of it, CEP... version, uh, hold on... CEP Ver. 2.1..... isn't that a realllly old version? It may not have that option. But hell, I don't know half of what it has, I still have much to learn. (5 years using the program and still an idgit!) |

I had the jumbled up lyrics when I used audiograbber also. I went with powerCD+G and havent had any issues since. Mojo |

Mojo I also like PowerKaraoke's CD&G Burner and love it. tested audiograbber, CDGrip V1 and powerkaraoke and only PowerKaraoke lyrics came up clean. V2 of CDGrip is comparable to PowerKaraoke because they added error correction to it. |

Free..... is good. Free AND uncomplicated..... even better. Now if I can only find a recording software that self-detects what vocal effects I need and what volume levels to mix the 2 tracks at, I'll be set;) |

Hi Folks I also like the powerkaraoke prog. It rips faultless everytime, it will get the track details from the internet and you can customise how the file is saved i.e Disc-Track - Artist - Title etc. It will also rip to Zipped ( I think) but I`ve never tried this. Its not expensive I thinks its around £20.00 and it can save you a lot of hassle. Good luck Paul |
