As good as we all might be, we all have our clunkers every now and again. What's the absolute worst song you've ever done? Something that turned out so bad that you just wanted to stop in the middle of the song and run off stage with your tail between your legs? The one that comes to mind for me is "No More Drama" by Mary J. Blige. I did it on a slow night at a bar that has 7 nights a week karaoke. I knew it would be bad, but I was curious as to how bad it would actually be. So I gave it a shot. For those of you who don't know the song, it's a real R&B diva song, lots of riffing and belting and scatting as the song builds. I'm a thirtysomething redheaded white boy who's more vocally suited to Gordon Lightfoot or Nat King Cole type songs. Straightforward and melodic. Anyway, we'll just say it was bad. Really, really, really bad. |

Bad nights? Everytime I open my mouth to sing its bad, but the worst and the baddest of all was not long ago when I tried Micheal Boltan's 'When a man loves a women', it so bad someone grabed away the mic and finish the song. I did not even finish the first verse. Thats how bad it can go. but i will try it again just for the trill and if no one grab away the mic from me then thats an improvement can you beat that? |

I can think of 3 really bad songs that I've sang. One was a Beatle song called I Will. I don't have that song so I used the one the KJ had. It wasn't the Beatle version like it said it was and the song was so high I couldn't reach the notes, but I finished it anyway. The next time--same thing--A Beatle song--too high. I now have these 2 songs which are in my range. The 3rd time was a song I brought called When You're Hot You're Hot. I practiced it and had it down pretty good, but about a fourth way into the song the words started scrambling up on the screen and I couldn't read it anymore. ( Dirty CD ) I get really nervous when I can't look at the words but I stayed and finished it. Now I make sure my CD's are clean before I use them. |

Well considering I have no digital recording capabilities, I have to just post the song like this. The only song I have EVER cut off 1/2 way thru, and apologize to the audience- The Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel. I have permanently banned myself from the song! |

The worst? I have several that come to mind. But the absolute worst would have to be "Summertime" (I wasn't really sure of myself, and I tried to sing it in the original key which goes up to a high A and I just choked) and "Walking on the Sun" (I inadvertantly made it sound too much like a ballad). There were two other experimental songs that I had just started working on and I just lost it: "Un Bel Di" (I don't think its right for my voice) and Song to the Moon (when I first tried it). Also, "Another Brick in the Wall" turned out to be a real disaster because everyone knows this one and I went totally blank (not to mention you don't usually hear a soprano sing it). |

Badsinger, I have an extremely elaborate recording system.. the actual tracks sound much better than the ones uploaded.. and the way they played.. but i know it was the way the file had to be compressed to be uploaded. I'll listen in a few |

Brian Sir Thank for the comments on my first sub. My recording set up is very basic:PC wt SBL sd card and the cheapo mic. Dont even use a headphone, or a mic stand. I record using the recording software that come wt the card into one track. after that i just compressed using dBpowerAMP. Iam new to this recording thing and sorry, may i ask; what does modulation means? Please dont laugh. One more: when you listen to my song I missprounced a few words and thats because English is not my first lang. |

I'm not laughing.. The signal in was too loud on your voice.. if you can't control the mic step back from it a little bit.. try that. |

Build Me Up Buttercup... I don't WHY!!! It is my range it SHOULD be just fine and dandy! But UGH!! No matter HOW hard I try I just suck at that song and I kinda like it! The best surprise was a friend (we are both male) and I were in a Karaoke Duet Challange where you picked the song out of a bowl. We got Does He Love You By Reba and Linda. We DID lower the key, but Dang... we burned that SONG UP!!! (I was Reba) Now when my friend comes to my shows the regulars BEG us to sing the song! Bubba Oh and I added an ugly pic... gotta try to find a new one somewhere. |

Here's the link to the top 50 worst songs by fruit Blender http://entertainment.news.com.au/common ... bv,00.html Out of those, these songs get sang or are often sang at the bar I go to: 4. Rollin' - Limp Bizkit ... 2000 (I sing this one) 5. Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice ... 1990 (I sing this one) 16. What's Up? - 4 Non Blondes ... 1993 (gets sang a lot!!) 22. Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American) - Toby Keith ... 2002 (I have to call bull$hit on this one, this song is a crowd favorite) 24. Five for Fighting - Superman ... 2000 28. Your Body Is a Wonderland - John Mayer ... 2001 (this song does suck) 29. Breakfast at Tiffany's - Deep Blue Something ... 1995 (I sing this one) 31. I agree with about 4 on that list that Krusty provided.. as soon as I'm completed with Legitimately scoring out the excessive 10's that were handed out in Singer's Showcase today. I'll read it very closely. I am scoreing honestly what I believe are the honest scores that the songs deserve. we'll see how they fall then. Critics are crap aren't they? But we all are a critic once in our lives. |

I just got done singing "baby got back" a couple nights ago. I torched it. I sang "Sweet Child o mine" and "Rock the Casbah" pretty good. Some people were edging me to get back on stage (I wasn't hosting the Karaoke). A dude picked out "baby got back" and I was actually drunk enough to do it. Anyways I torched it but it wasn't too bad. It got people rocking just the same. |
