does a graphic equalizer help a basic karaoke setup?? i mean basic just 2 speakers a mixer and a power amp and ur karaoke disc players.

If dialed in correctly, an eq can aid in anything from tuning the system to the room, to feedback control. A correctly set-up eq will help any system.
If eq'd wrong, you can actually hurt the sound.

I believe you're better off going with a BBE Sonic Maximizer 482. So many of the Karaoke CD's have so many audio variables that using an EQ maybe more of a pain.

I use a BBE Sonic Maximizer on the music loop, And an EQ on the mic loop. A British kj who is here visiting NY commented saturday on how crisp my sound is.
