Are there any sure fire settings for live vocals. I was thinking -30 threshold, 2-1 ratio, .5 attack , .5release and +10 output. First time doing this stuff. Help!!! |

All systems are going to react differently to different compressors. Each singer as well. There is no "one size fits all" for everything. You will need to adjust until you don't even realize the compressor is even working but enough that if you took it out, you would definately miss it. I run a little less threshold & slightly higher ratio. The output is compensation for what is being compressed. You have too much compression is you can hear it "pumping", where the signal is kind of going high & low - repeat. |

Lonman is so right, one size gets close, but dosen't fit all If you fool around long enough, you'll get it |
